NORTH KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A new exit ramp will open the afternoon of Wednesday, Oct. 7 for motorists traveling northbound Interstate 29/35 to Bedford Avenue. In preparation of the ramp opening, the right lane of northbound Interstate 29/35 from Front Street to 16th Avenue will be closed from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for pavement marking. In addition, all northbound I-29/35 traffic will be shifted to new pavement from Levee Road to just south of 16th Avenue. This is the third of 16 new ramps to open on the kcICON Project.
The new exit features a longer ramp that allows additional deceleration time for drivers, and can accommodate more vehicles.
"We really appreciate the public's patience and cooperation while we reconstruct the corridor," said kcICON Project Director Brian Kidwell. "We're working as quickly as possible to provide much improved access to and from the Paseo Industrial District."
All construction activities are weather dependent and subject to change. Updated lane closure information for the kcICON Project can be found on the project's Web site at http://www.kcicon.com/ or by calling the information hotline at 816-841-8888.
