Online Meeting: Construction on the Route 45 Corridor

What do Citizens and Stakeholders Need?

In 2006, MoDOT sent out approximately 350 Citizen Surveys to stakeholders and Route 45 property owners to ask what they thought about potential improvements to Route 45, and their possible effects on local traffic, access to residences and businesses, and overall quality of life. Based on the responses, citizens had several concerns but overall:

  • Citizens' No. 1 most important criteria was safety.
  • Their No. 2 was ease of movement through the corridor

Route 45 — between Route 9 and Route K — was also identified as one of MoDOT’s Amendment 3 Major projects. Route 45 improvements are also endorsed by the Mid-America Regional Council, the City of Parkville and Platte County.
