UPDATES: A public information meeting is scheduled for June 20 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Civic Center located at 2100 S Broadway, Oak Grove, MO

What is this project?

MoDOT is recommending rehabilition of the bridge and safety improvements to the interchange of I-70 and Route F, including changing the interchange into a diverging diamond.

Why is MoDOT proposing this project?

The age and condition of this bridge requires extensive rehabilitation so it can continue to serve motorists. But more important, this existing diamond interchange has experienced a total of 102 crashes over the past five years. Changes are required to improve safety.

Converting the traditional diamond interchange to a diverging diamond interchange will increase left-turn capacity, improve traffic operation and reduce the number of crashes on Route F. Based on previous studies, the DDI could potentially reduce the number of fatal and injury crashes by about 62.6%.

In addition to the improvments for the bridge and traffic handling, the ramps onto I-70 will be lengthened to allow improved merging onto the interstate.
