Updates on MoDOT’s KC District’s work

State offices will be closed on Monday May 27, for Memorial Day. MoDOT is taking additional steps to ensure you are aware of the latest construction-related restrictions. We are highlighting in red each day's new information so that you can forward this breaking news to motorists in a timely manner.

Cass County

New Work Today and Updates/Changes

I-49: Barrier placement work at night will close the right lane southbound I-49 between 163rd St to Route 58 from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. Wednesday, May 29.

Route 18: Pavement maintenance will restrict traffic eastbound Route 18 between Route A and I-49 from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily May 27–30.

I-49: New pavement construction will restrict traffic southbound I-49 between Old State Highway Y and Route 58 from 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 28 to 8 a.m. Thursday, May 30.

I-49/Route 58: New pavement construction will close the southbound ramp I-49 to southbound Route 58 from Tuesday, May 28 to July 8.

Route 2: Culvert replacement work will close Route 2 between Bird Ave. and Route Z from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily through June 13, 2013.

I-49: Milling and resurfacing work at night will close the left lane southbound I-49 between 163rd /St. and Route 58 from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. Tuesday, May 28.

I-49: New pavement construction at night will close the right lane southbound I-49 between 163rd /St. and Route 58 and the off ramp to Route 58 Wednesday, May 29 through July 8.

Route 7: Pavement resurfacing will close Route 7 between Route B and Route 71 daily from 6 p.m. Monday, May 13 and 8 p.m. November 11, 2013.

Clay County

New Work Today and Updates/Changes

Route 169: Shoulder pavement will restrict traffic to a single lane north and southbound Route 169 between Route KK to the Clinton County Line from 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 28 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 12. Work zone will be controlled by flaggers and a pilot car.

Route 92/Centerville Ave.: Culvert replacement will close Centerville Ave. at Route 92 from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, May 28-29.

I-35: Pavement marking will close the right lane northbound I-35 at Route 291 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 28.

I-29/I-35: Bridge maintenance will close the southbound I-29 ramp to northbound I-35 St. Pius Flyover from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 29.

I-35: Sign preparation will close various lanes north and southbound I-35 between Chouteau and I-435 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursday, May 30.

I-35/I-435: Bridge maintenance work at night will close the on-ramp northbound I-35 to northbound I-435 from 7 p.m. Thursday, May 30 to Sunday, June 9.

Route 273: Pavement repair work will restrict traffic north and southbound Route 273 between Route 92 and Route 45 from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. through July 22.

Route 69: Construction work will restrict traffic north and southbound Route 69 between Route PP and Route 92 from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekdays through Friday, May 31.

Route 169: Construction work will restrict traffic north and southbound Route 169 between Route KK and Route W daily from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekdays through Friday, May 31.

Route 291: Construction work will restrict traffic north and southbound Route 291 between Glen Hendren Dr. and 96th St. from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. through May 31.

I-35/76th St.: New construction will close east and westbound traffic 76th St. at Flintlock Road through August 12, 2013.

I-35/ Flintlock Rd: New construction will close north and southbound traffic Flintlock Road at 76th St. through August 12, 2013.

I-35/Liberty Dr.: New construction will close east and westbound traffic Liberty Dr. at Flintlock Road through August 12, 2013.

I-35: New overpass construction at Flintlock and I-35 will close Flintlock Rd. between 76th St. and 79th St. Additionally 76th St. will be closed between N. Kentucky Road and Church Road in KCMO through August 12. A signed detour will be in place.

I-35: New pavement construction at Liberty Dr. and I-35 will close Liberty Dr. between Midjay Drive and Winding Woods Drive through August 12. A signed detour will be in place.

Route 169: New pavement construction will close a lane of northbound and southbound Route 169 between 96th Street and I-435 through November 1, 2013.

Route 169: New pavement construction will close a lane of northbound and southbound Route 169 between 96th Street and Mid Continent Trafficway through November 1, 2013.

 Jackson County

New Work Today and Updates/Changes

Route 50/350: Bridge deck removal will close Route 350/50 between Colbern Rd. to Chipman Rd. from 10 p.m. Friday, May 31 to 5 a.m. Monday, June 3.

Eastbound Route 50/350 traffic will be detoured to westbound I-470, to View High Dr. to eastbound I-470 then back to eastbound Route 50/350.

Westbound Route 50/350 traffic will be detoured to eastbound I-470, to Douglas, to westbound I-470 and then back to westbound Route 50/350.

Bridge Construction at night will create lane closures nightly on east and westbound Route 50/350 nightly from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. through June 30, 2013.

I-470/Route 50/350: Bridge deck removal will close the westbound I-470 ramp to eastbound Route 50/350 from 10 p.m. Friday, May 31 to 5 a.m. Monday, June 3.

Traffic will be detoured on westbound I-470 to View High Dr. to eastbound I-470 to eastbound Route 50/350.

I-70/Benton Blvd.: Bridge deck repairs will close a lane north and southbound Benton Blvd. over I-70 Tuesday, May 28 through Monday, June 17.

Route 291: New pavement construction at night will restrict traffic southbound 291 between Kentucky Rd. and Route 24 from 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 28 to 5 a.m. Wednesday, May 29.

Route 291: Concrete pavement repair at night work will close various lanes southbound Route 291 from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Wednesday and Thursday, May 29-30.

Route 24: Bridge maintenance will restrict traffic east and westbound Route 24 between Bennington Ave. and Blue Ridge Blvd. from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily through May, 26.

Route W/Bannister Rd.: Bridge removal will close Route W/Bannister Rd. between Route 71 and Grandview Rd from 7 p.m. Friday, May 31 to 5 a.m. Monday, May 20. Grandview Rd will also close Friday, May 31 at 7 p.m. and will remain closed through October. Marked detours will be in place. (Rescheduled from May, 17)

I-470: Maintenance work will close a lane westbound I-470 between Woods Chapel Rd. and Route 291 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily Thursday, May 16 through June 28.

Route 291: Maintenance work will restrict traffic north and southbound Route 291 between Woods Chapel Rd. and I-470 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily Thursday, May 16 through June 28.

Route W/Bannister Rd.: Median work will close various lanes of east and westbound Route W/Bannister Rd. between Blue River Rd. and Route 71 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, through May.

I-70: Bridge maintenance will close north and southbound Charlotte Street under I-70 daily from 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. through June 10.

I-70: Bridge work will close the right lane northbound and southbound Charlotte Street beneath I-70 at the northeast corner of the Downtown Loop through June.

Route 71: Bridge maintenance will close the ramp from southbound Route 71 to southbound I-35 through July 1.

I-70: Bridge maintenance will close the left lane of westbound I-70 at 9th Street through July 1.

I-35: Bridge maintenance will close the ramp from northbound I-35 to southbound Route 71 in the northeast corner of the Downtown Loop through June 5.

I-70: Bridge maintenance will restrict eastbound and westbound I-70 near Charlotte Street to two lanes through July 1.

Route 50: Bridge maintenance will restrict traffic on westbound Route 50 between Chipman Road and I-470 through June 30.

Route 50: Bridge maintenance will restrict traffic on westbound Route 50 between Route 50 and Colbern Road through June 30.

I-35: Bridge repairs will restrict northbound I-35 between Cambridge Circle and 20th Street to two right lanes through December.

I-35: Bridge repairs will restrict southbound I-35 from north of 20th Street to Cambridge Circle to two lanes through December.

I-35: Bridge repairs will close the Broadway ramp to southbound I-35 through December.

I-35: Bridge repairs will close the ramp from 21st Street to southbound I-35 through December.

I-470: Bridge repair at night will close a lane of eastbound I-470 between View High Drive and Douglas nightly through June 30.

Route 350: Construction/bridge work will close a lane of eastbound Route 350 between Colbern Road and Route 50 through June 30.

I-35: Construction work will close the West Pennway ramp to southbound I-35 through December.

I-35: Construction work will close the Broadway ramp to southbound I-35 through December.

I-470 at Route 50/350: Bridge redecking will close the ramp from eastbound I-470 to westbound Route 50/350 and the ramp from eastbound Route 50/350 to eastbound I-470 through June 30. Eastbound Route 50/350 to eastbound I-470 will detour to Chipman Road, then to westbound Route 40/350, then back to eastbound I-470. Eastbound I-470 to westbound 50/350 will detour to Douglas Road, then to westbound 470, then back to westbound Route 50/350.

I-35: Bridge repairs will close one lane of the ramp from Southwest Trafficway to northbound I-35 through December.

I-35: Bridge repairs will close the Penn Valley ramp to northbound I-35 through December.

I-35: Bridge replacement will reduce northbound and southbound I-35 beneath Charlotte Street to two lanes through May 31.

I-470: Bridge redecking will restrict eastbound I-470 to two narrow lanes over Route 50/350 with nightly lane closures at times from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. through June 30.

Route 50/350: Bridge work on eastbound and westbound Route 50/350 at I-470 will create nightly lane closures from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. through June 30.

Route AA: Permit work will restrict traffic eastbound Route AA at Business Route 13 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 28.

I-29/Tiffany Springs Pkwy: New pavement construction will restrict traffic westbound Tiffany Springs Pkwy between Ambassador Dr. and Prairie View Rd from 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 29 through December 31, 2013.

I-29: Guardrail work will restrict traffic north and southbound I-29 between Route 273 and Route H daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 28 through June 20.

I-635/Route 9: Bridge maintenance will close northbound I-635 ramp to northbound Route 9 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Route 45: Pavement repair and guardrail replacement will restrict northbound and southbound Route 45 to a single lane, flagger controlled, between NW Mainliner Road and Route 273 from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. through June 10.

Route 45: Pavement repair at night will restrict traffic east and westbound Route 45 between Roanridge Road, I-29 and Cosby Road nightly from 7:30 p.m. Sunday, April 21 to Monday, August 5.

Route 45: Pavement repair will restrict northbound Route 45 between 64th Street and the I-29 outer road from 7:30 a.m. Sunday, April 21, through July 1.

Route 45: Pavement repair/construction at night will restrict traffic northbound Route 45 between Jones-Meyer Rd and Outer Road 29 nightly from 7:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. weeknights through July 1, 2013.
