This year's major projects include:
American Recovery and Reinvestment Act projects
Work will soon be under way on another 54 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act projects for $87.1 million -- bringing the total number of recovery projects awarded in Missouri to 91.
Better Roads, Brighter Future
MoDOT will improve the remainder of the state’s 5,600 miles of major highways over the next five years. These busy highways will receive wider stripes and rumble stripes, brighter signs, paved shoulders and smooth pavement that will bring 85 percent of Missouri’s major highway system up to good condition by the end of 2011.
I-435 and I-70 interchange
The I-435 and I-70 interchange will be improved to reduce bottlenecks and improve both capacity and access through projects partially funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and also through MoDOT’s Statewide Transportation Improvement Program.
Safe and Sound Bridges
Safe & Sound is a multi-faceted program that will improve more than 800 of Missouri’s worst bridges in five years. The Safe & Sound program is in full swing affecting bridges in Platte, Clay and Cass County.
