Seasonal, Summer, and Emergency Work - Back

Seasonal maintenance workers must be at least 18 years of age, possess a high school diploma or GED, and have a valid commercial drivers permit without air-brake restrictions (requires passing the written tests before hire date). Tanker endorsement is required in some areas, as well. Must have the ability to learn the operation of equipment in the area including heavy dump truck with snowplow, 6-foot tractor mower, front-end loader, jack hammer and pull roller.

Ability to perform physical labor including moving materials by hand, operating hand tools and stationary flagging is required.

Seasonal Maintenance workers typically work during the months of April through October.

When available, MoDOT offers a variety of work in many districts, including clerical and business and information technology internships.

During the winter season, on-call, emergency snow-removal crew members are needed. You must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid Class A or B Commercial Drivers License with no air-brake restrictions. Learn more about emergency operators positions here.
