General Summary:

CONSTRUCTION INSPECTOR

The construction inspector inspects routine construction items for conformance to plans, specifications, special provisions, and terms of the contract. Responsibilities are performed under moderate supervision.

Minimum/Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree: Civil Engineering or Geological Engineering

Certification to operate nuclear gauges may be required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Lead Worker Only

Special Working Conditions/Job Characteristics:

Job requires moderate physical activity.

Job requires exposure to physical hazards, health and safety risks, and/or adverse or otherwise undesirable characteristics in the environment.

INTERMEDIATE CONSTRUCTION INSPECTOR

The intermediate construction inspector inspects routine and specialty construction items for conformance to plans, specifications, special provisions, and terms of the contract; directs inspection and surveying of routine projects. Responsibilities are performed under moderate supervision.

Minimum/Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree: Civil Engineering or Geological Engineering

Certification to operate nuclear gauges may be required.

Two years of experience in highway or transportation engineering.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Lead Worker Only

Special Working Conditions/Job Characteristics:

Job requires exposure to physical hazards, health and safety risks, and/or adverse or otherwise undesirable characteristics in the environment.

SENIOR CONSTRUCTION INSPECTOR

The senior construction inspector directs the inspection, layout, and final plans preparation for one or more construction projects; performs layout and inspection of complicated or critical structures; provides general assistance to resident engineer or aviation administrator. Responsibilities are performed under general supervision.

Minimum/Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree: Civil Engineering or Geological Engineering

Certification to operate nuclear gauges may be required.

Four years of experience in highway or transportation engineering.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Lead Worker Only
