High Friction Surface Treatment Approved in Camden and Miller Counties

Roadways in Camden and Miller counties will soon get new pavement designed to provide motorists with more traction in rain, ice and snow. The application, called High Friction Surface Treatment, is part of a contract approved by the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission.

The treatment will be applied at the following locations:

  • U.S. Route 54, south of the Route Y interchange in Linn Creek.
  • Missouri Route 5, north of the Niangua Bridge.
  • Miller County Route W, west of Route 54.

The Truesdell Corporation was awarded the contract after submitting the low bid of $269,269.

The project is scheduled to begin this summer and be completed by the fall. Lane closures are likely in the work area.
