Road Work for Mid-Missouri
November 21 - December 2, 2016

JEFFERSON CITY - The following is a listing of general highway maintenance and construction work in the mid-Missouri area for the two-week period of November 21–December 2, 2016. Scheduled maintenance and construction activities will not take place on Thursday, November 24 and Friday, November 25 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. Weather conditions may postpone the work schedule. Many projects will include lane closures that could cause delays.                                                  

MoDOT reminds motorists to buckle up, slow down, follow posted signs and drive safely through work areas. All Counties Daylight Hours Striping, mowing, brush cutting and guardrail repair continues in various locations.  Motorists should travel with care and be alert to slow-moving equipment along the road.


Boone County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 63 between Route 763 (Rangeline Street) and Route WW – Pavement repair and resurfacing in the northbound and southbound lanes continues. * Pavement markings will be installed on the Interstate 70/Route 63 Connector the week of November 21. One lane will be open in the work area.

Daylight Hours
Route 124 over Reader Creek – Culvert maintenance will take place Monday, November 28 through Thursday, December 1. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Business Loop 70 between Illinois Avenue and College Avenue – Culvert pipe replacement in the eastbound and westbound lanes continues. One eastbound and westbound lane is open through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in mid-December.


Callaway County
Daylight Hours
Route 54 between Business Route 54 and County Road 147 – Roadway resurfacing in the eastbound and westbound lanes continues.  
* The remainder of the concrete pavement work is scheduled for after the observation of the Thanksgiving holiday. All detours are completed.

Route 94 at the intersection of County Road 469 - Culvert pipe replacement will take place Tuesday, November 29 through Friday, December 2.  County Road 469 will be closed from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. each day.  Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route around the work area.

Route J between County Road 230 and County Road 252 – Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, November 28. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Camden County
Daylight Hours
Route 54 over Route 5 in Camdenton – Pavement repairs in the eastbound and westbound lanes will continue the week of November 21. Occasional single-lane closures are expected in both the eastbound and westbound lanes.

Route BB between Route 7 and Route H in Laclede County – Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, November 21 through Wednesday, November 23. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Cole County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 50/63 (Whitton Expressway) and the Lafayette Street Interchange - Interchange construction, lane construction, and bridge improvements. The interchange has been completed and is open to traffic. However, some work still remains on the project to increase safety and improve traffic flow through Jefferson City.

Scheduled Work Highlights During the Week of November 21:
Contractors are working on the Clark Avenue Bridge. Work this week includes substructure repair, pouring barrier curbs, sidewalks and curb ramps.

Current Traffic Impacts:
     * The Clark Avenue bridge over U.S. Route 50/63 is closed for rehabilitation work. The bridge will be closed until mid-December while the overpass gets a new driving surface and undergoes repairs.

     * The Clark Avenue on and off ramps at Route 50/63 are also closed and will remain closed until mid-December to facilitate work on the Clark Avenue bridge.  

Upcoming Traffic Impacts:
There will be daily lane closures of eastbound and westbound Route 50/63 from Sunday, November 20 through Saturday, November 26 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Route 54/63 over the Missouri River in Jefferson City – Painting of the westbound Route 54/63 bridge over the Missouri River in Jefferson City is complete. Some follow-up work on the westbound Route 54/63 Missouri River Bridge in Jefferson City will require one right lane to be closed Monday, November 21 from 6 p.m. until 12 a.m.

The lane closure will also require the Route W on-ramp to westbound Route 54/63 to be closed through Monday, November 21. A signed detour will be posted for the Route W on-ramp closure.

The lane closure will allow the contractor on the bridge painting job to repair parts of the bridge’s substructure.

Overnight Hours
Business Route 50 (Missouri Boulevard) between Route 50 and Virginia Street - Sidewalk and pedestrian improvements continue.
* Periodic lane closures are possible near Delaware Street the week of November 21 as work will take place on curbs, gutters, sidewalks, paved approaches, and island medians. Electrical work will also take place at the intersection of Missouri Boulevard and Delaware Street.

Daylight Hours
Route 17 between Route 54 and Rush Road in Miller County – Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, November 21 through Wednesday, November 23. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 179 over Frog Hollow Road– Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, November 21 and Tuesday, November 22. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Cooper County
Overnight Hours
Route 5 between Interstate 70 and Route 87
– Pavement repair and roadway resurfacing continues.     
* Striping operations will take place the week of November 21. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Crawford County
Overnight Hours
Interstate 44 between Route H and the Phelps County Line – Pavement improvements in the eastbound and westbound lanes continue. One eastbound lane and one westbound lane are open through the work area.

Daylight Hours
Route 8 between Route 19 and the Washington County line - Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, November 21 through Friday, December 2. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 49 between Route 19 and Route Y in Iron County - Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, November 21 through Friday, December 2. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route V between Route 49 and Route Y - Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, November 21 through Friday, December 2. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route Y between Route V and Route 49 in Iron County - Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, November 21 through Friday, December 2. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Gasconade County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route H between Route 19 and Route E – Culvert pipe replacement will take place Monday, November 21 through Friday, December 2. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Howard County
Daylight Hours
Route 87 between Route 40 and Route 240 – Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, November 21 through Friday, December 2. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Laclede County
Overnight Hours
Route O between Route 95 and Route Z – Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, November 21 through Friday, December 2. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Daylight Hours
Route 5 between Sixth Street and Vance Street – Sidewalk and signal improvements continue. Occasional lane closures are possible through the work area.

Route B over North Cobb Creek, north of Royal Drive – Stream bank stabilization will continue the week of November 21. Occasional lane closures are possible in the work area.


Maries County
Daylight Hours
Route 63 over the Gasconade River – Bridge maintenance will take place on Monday, November 28 and Tuesday, November 29. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route E between Route 28 and County Road 512 – Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, November 21 through Wednesday, November 23. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route N between Route 28 and Route 133 – Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, November 21 through Wednesday, November 25. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route V over Little Fly creek – Culvert repair will take place Tuesday, November 29 through Thursday, December 1. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Miller County
Daylight Hours
Route 17 between Route 52 and Route 54 in Cole County – Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, November 28 through Friday, December 2. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 17 between Route A and Sand Rock Road – Culvert pipe replacement will take place Monday, November 21 through Friday, December 2. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 42 at the west access of Russell Loop – Culvert pipe replacement will take place Monday, November 21 through Friday, December 2. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 54 between Route 242 and the Cole County line – Roadway resurfacing in the eastbound lanes and westbound lanes continues. One eastbound lane and one westbound lane are open through the work area.

Route H between Route 17 and Jim Henry Road – Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, November 28 through Friday, December 2. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Moniteau County
Daylight Hours
Route 50 between Class Crossing Drive and Route 5 South – Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, November 21 through Friday, December 2. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Morgan County
Daylight Hours
Route 5 between Route O and Mooreview Drive – Sidewalk, pedestrian and signal improvements continue. Occasional lane closures are possible through the work area.

Route 52 between Route Y and Route YY in Miller County – Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, November 21 through Wednesday, November 23. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route KK between Route D and Route M in Pettis County – Culvert pipe replacement will take place Monday, November 21 through Wednesday, November 23.  One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Osage County
Daylight Hours
Route 100 between Route 50 and Route 89 North – Culvert pipe replacement will take place Monday, November 21 through Friday, December 2.  One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 50 between Route 89 and Route T in Gasconade County – Roadway resurfacing and shoulder widening are nearly complete. Occasional lane closures with minimal traffic impact are planned for the week of November 21.

Route W between Route 50 and Maple Bluff Lane – Stream bank stabilization will take place Monday, November 21 through Friday, December 2. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Phelps County
Daylight Hours
Interstate 44 between Route 63 and Route F in Crawford County – Roadway resurfacing in the eastbound lanes continues.
* Roadway striping and pavement repairs are scheduled for the week of November 21. Minor traffic delays are possible. One eastbound lane will be open through the work area.

Route P between Route T and Route AA – Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, November 21 through Friday, December 2. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route T between Route M and Route P – Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, November 21 through Wednesday, November 23. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Pulaski County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 17 between Route H and Route T – Pavement improvements and grading continues.
* Work continues on the roundabout at Route 17 and Route T the week of November 21.

Route 17 south between Route AB and the Texas County Line – Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, November 21 through Friday, December 2. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Washington County
Daylight Hours
Route 8 between Route AA and the St. Francois County line – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, November 21 through Wednesday, November 23. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
