Road Work for Mid-Missouri
August 1 - August 14, 2014

JEFFERSON CITY - The following is a listing of general highway maintenance and construction work in the mid-Missouri area for the two-week period of August 1 through August 14, 2014. Weather conditions may postpone the work schedule. Many projects will include lane closures that could cause delays.

MoDOT reminds motorists to buckle up, slow down, follow posted signs and drive safely through work areas. All Counties
Daylight/Evening Hours
Striping of roadways, mowing, brush cutting and guard rail repair continues in various locations.  Motorists should travel with care and be alert to slow-moving equipment along the road.

Boone County
Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route 63 in Ashland - Work includes bridge deck repairs on the Route M and Y overpass; construction of a J-turn on Route 63 south of Peterson Lane; elimination of existing median crossovers at Liberty and Peterson lanes; installation of roundabouts on Route M and Y at the Route 63 overpass; pavement resurfacing of northbound and southbound Route 63 between Route WW and Route 54 in Callaway County.
On Monday, August 4,  base rock and paving will be taking place at the northeast corner of the eastern roundabout. This work will require narrow lanes during the day on the on and off ramps from northbound Route 63 so that trucks can access the area. The work will also require shoulder work along Route Y. Shoulder work will not require lane drops, but may cause traffic to slow down through the area. Guardrail work will also take place along Route 63 at various locations. This work may require various daytime lane closures for short distances so that work can be completed. Additionally, the contractor will continue paving the mainline of US 63. Paving work will require a nighttime driving (right) lane closures in the northbound lanes. All lanes will be open in time for the morning commute.

Route B over Business Loop 70 - Bridge replacement is underway. The bridge is completely closed to traffic. The project is scheduled for completion in mid-September.

Route WW over Hominy Creek, east of Keene Street - Bridge rehabilitation continues. The bridge is completely closed to traffic. The project is scheduled for completion in late August.

Route WW over Route 63 - Bridge rehabilitation continues. One lane in each direction and a turn lane are open in the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in late August.

Overnight Hours

Route 163 (Providence Road) between Business Loop 70 and Route 740 (Stadium Boulevard) - Roadway resurfacing continues. One lane is open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in October.

Route 740 (Stadium Boulevard) at Interstate 70 - Widening of Stadium Boulevard continues. Crews will be finishing up lighting, signing, and miscellaneous items. Work to mark the pavement will continue, which could cause lane closures. Motorists are advised to watch for construction equipment and be aware of lane and intersection closures in the work area.

Route 63 at Hinton Road
- Intersection improvements in the northbound and southbound lanes are underway. Occasional lane closures are likely through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in early September.

Route V between Thomas Hill Road and Graybill Road - Culvert pipe replacement will take place Thursday, August 7. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 63 over Turkey Creek  - Bridge maintenance will take place Wednesday, August 6. One lane will be open eastbound and one lane will be open westbound.

Callaway County

Route 54 at Route FF/Old Route 40 - Traffic signal installation, construction of turn lanes, and new roadway construction continues. One lane is open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in early August.

Route F between Route 54 and Route J - Roadway resurfacing and widening of shoulders continues. One lane is open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in late August.

Route J between Route F and Route WW - Roadway resurfacing and widening of shoulders continues. One lane is open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in late August.

Route HH between I-70 and County Road 230  - Culvert pipe replacement will take place Tuesday, August 5.  One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route WW between County Road 350 and County Road 259 - Roadside maintenance will take place on Monday, August 4.  One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 54 between Route TT and Center Street - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 4 through Thursday, August 7. One lane eastbound and one lane westbound will be open at all times.

Route 94 over Hiller Creek  - Bridge maintenance will take place Monday, August 4 through Friday, August 8. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 94 over Middle River  - Bridge maintenance will take place Monday, August 4 through Friday, August 8. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Camden County
Daylight Hours

Route D between Route 54 and Route E in Laclede County - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 4 through Thursday, August 7. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route AA between Route 54 and end of state maintenance - Roadway maintenance will take place Friday, August 8 through Friday, August 14. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. There is a restriction on vehicles larger than 10-feet wide.

Route 54 at Route Y - Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, August 4 through Thursday, August 7. One westbound lane will be open through the work area.

Route 7 between Route 5 and Route 65 in Benton County
- Roadway resurfacing continues. One lane is open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

Route 54 at Key Largo Road - Overhead sign installation will take place the week of August 4.  One eastbound lane will be open through the work area.

Route 5 just south of the Hurricane Deck Bridge - Guardrail repair will take place on Wednesday, August 6. One lane will be open through the work area.

Route 7  from Route 5 near Climax Springs in Camden County to Route 65 in Benton County - Resurfacing work will take place the week of August 4. One lane will be open through the work area.

 

Cole County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route D over the South Moreau Creek, south of Lohman - Bridge replacement continues. The bridge is closed during the work. Detours are in place. The project is scheduled for completion in August.

Route A between Route AA and Route FF - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 4 through Friday, August 8. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route N between Route 179 and Route 87 in Moniteau County - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 4 through Friday, August 8. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route AA between Route C and Route 54 in Miller County - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 4 through Friday, August, 8. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route NN between Route N and Route U - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 4 through Friday, August, 8. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Cooper County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 41 over the Lamine River, north of Moehle Mill Road - Bridge replacement continues.  The bridge is closed to traffic. The project is scheduled for completion in October.

Route JJ between Route 135 and state maintenance end  - Roadway maintenance will take place Tuesday, August 12 through Thursday, August 14. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route U between Doyle Road and Clarks Fork Road - Roadway maintenance will take place Tuesday, August 5 through Thursday, August 7. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route N between Route NN and Route 135 - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 11 through Tuesday, August 12. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route PP between Kliethermes Road and Kaiser Road - Roadway maintenance will take place Wednesday, August 6 through Thursday, August 7. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Crawford County

Route 19 between Route P and Route PP -
Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 4 through Thursday, August 7. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route F between Route ZZ and Frontage Road - Bridge maintenance will take place Monday, August 4 through Thursday, August 7. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route PP between Route 19 and state maintenance end  - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 4 through Thursday, August 7. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route Y between Route V and Route 49  - Culvert pipe replacement will take place Monday, August 4 through Thursday, August 14. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route BB between Route 8 and state maintenance end  - Culvert pipe replacement will take place Monday, August 4 through Thursday, August 14. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route WW between Frontage Road and state maintenance end - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 4 through Thursday, August 7. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 8 between Route 19 and Route 68 in Phelps county  - Culvert pipe replacement will take place Monday, August 4 through Thursday, August 14. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Dent County

Route 19 between Route WW and Route KK in Shannon county - Roadway maintenance will take place Wednesday, August 6. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route DD between Route H and the end of state maintenance -
Chip sealing the roadway surface to extend the pavement life will take place on Monday, August 4. One lane will be open, and a pilot car will lead traffic through the work area. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete.  At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. 

Route OO between Route C and the end of state maintenance - Chip sealing the roadway surface to extend the pavement life will take place on Tuesday, August 5. One lane will be open, and a pilot car will lead traffic through the work area. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete.  At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. 

Route YY between Route E and the end of state maintenance - Chip sealing the roadway surface to extend the pavement life will take place on Monday, August 4. One lane will be open, and a pilot car will lead traffic through the work area. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete.  At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. 

Route 19 between Route 68 and Route 32 - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 11 through Thursday, August 14. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route H over Little Berger Creek, north of Route Z - Bridge replacement continues. The bridge is completely closed to traffic. The project is scheduled for completion in late August.

Route 19 between Krausetown Road and Route 28 -
Roadway work continues. One lane will be open to traffic at all times. The project is scheduled for completion in November.  


Howard County

Route JJ between Route 3 and state maintenance end
- Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 4 and Thursday, August 7. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Laclede County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 32 between Route 5 and Route 65 in Dallas County - Roadway resurfacing and widening of shoulders continues. The work will close the bridge over Spring Creek until Tuesday, August 12. Motorists can travel Route A, Interstate 44, and Route 5 to avoid the closure. The entire project is scheduled for completion in mid-August.

Route 32 and Outer Road Route Y - Pipe replacement from east of Spring Creek to Lebanon has began.  One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The entire project is scheduled for completion in mid-August.

Route AC over the Osage Fork, west of Early Road - Bridge rehabilitation continues. The bridge is completely closed to traffic. The project is scheduled for completion in mid-August.

Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 4. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Maries County

Route C over Lower Peavine Creek, south of County Road 424 - Bridge replacement continues. The bridge is closed to traffic during the work. The project is scheduled for completion in early August.

Route FF between Route 63 and the end of state maintenance - Chip sealing the roadway surface to extend the pavement life will take place on Monday, August 4. One lane will be open, and a pilot car will lead traffic through the work area. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete.  At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. 

Route A between Route 63 and Route E in Phelps County - Chip sealing the roadway surface to extend the pavement life will take place on Tuesday, August 5. One lane will be open, and a pilot car will lead traffic through the work area. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete.  At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. 

Route Z between Route 42 and Route 28 - Chip sealing the roadway surface to extend the pavement life will take place on Wednesday, August 6. One lane will be open, and a pilot car will lead traffic through the work area. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete.  At that time, crews will sweep the roadway.

Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 11 through Thursday, August 14. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route Y between Route 52 and the end of state maintenance - Roadside maintenance will take place on Monday, August 4 and Friday, August 8.  One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route K between Route 17 and Spruce Drive - Roadside maintenance will take place on Tuesday, August 5.  One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route E between Route 52 and end of state maintenance - Roadside maintenance will take place on Monday, August 11.  One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Moniteau County

Route H between Route 50 and Route O in Cooper County   - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 4 through Thursday, August 7. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route O between Route 87 and Route J in Cooper County   - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 4 through Thursday, August 7. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route D between Route KK  and Route 87 in Cooper County   - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 11 through Thursday, August 14. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Morgan County

- Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 4. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route BB between Route 135 and Route D - Roadway maintenance will take place Wednesday, August 6 and Thursday, August 7. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

  

Osage County
Daylight Hours
Route 50 between Route 63 and Route W
- Construction of new lanes continues. Traffic has been shifted onto two temporary bypasses near County Roads 401 and 604. The temporary bypasses will allow contractors to remove the old Route 50 lanes and pour the driving surface for the new lanes. The entire project is scheduled for completion in fall 2014.

Route 100 between Route 89 and Route 50 - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 4 through Thursday, August 7. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 68 over Lanes Fork - Bridge maintenance will take place Monday, August 4 through Thursday, August 7. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route HH over Bailey's Creek - Bridge maintenance will take place Monday, August 4 through Friday, August 8. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route N over Contrary Creek - Bridge maintenance will take place Monday, August 4 through Thursday, August 7. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Phelps County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 28 over Jones Creek Branch
- Bridge maintenance will take place Wednesday, August 6 through Sunday, August 10. The bridge is closed during the work. Detours are in place.

 

Route D over Burlington Northern Sante Fe Railroad in Jerome - Bridge replacement continues. The bridge is closed during the work. Detours are in place. The project is scheduled for completion in September.


Pulaski County
Daylight Hours
Route 7 at Route 133 in Richland - Signal light maintenance is underway. Signals are not functioning during the work. Motorists are reminded to treat the intersection as a four-way stop. The project is scheduled for completion in August.


Washington County
Daylight Hours
Route 47 between Route 21 and the St. Francois County line - Roadway resurfacing will take place Monday, August 4 through Saturday, August 10.   One lane is open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in November.

Route F between Route 8 and state maintenance end - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 4 through Thursday, August 7. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
