Community Briefing Planned for Route NN Lick Fork Creek Bridge in Boone County

BOONE COUNTY - An open-house community briefing will be held on Tuesday, May 17 from 4:30 until 6:00 p.m. to discuss plans to replace the Lick Fork Creek Bridge on Route NN in Boone County.  The bridge is located approximately three miles west of U.S. Route 63.

The community briefing will be held in the VFW Community Room at the Harrisburg R-VIII School Administration Building located at 1000 South Harris in Harrisburg.  The meeting location is accessible to the physically disabled.

Work is scheduled to take place in spring/summer 2011.  The bridge will close for about one month during construction and traffic will be detoured.

MoDOT staff will be available during the community briefing to share details about the project plans and proposed detour.  The public is invited to attend the briefing at any time during the advertised hours.  No formal presentations will be made.  Displays and handout materials from the briefing will be available at www.modot.org/central the following day.

The improvements are being completed as part of MoDOT's Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program, which will improve 802 of Missouri's worst bridges in five years - by the end of 2013.  Ninety bridges are being replaced or repaired in the mid-Missouri area as a part of this program.  So far, more than 350 bridges included in the program have been improved statewide.
