Bridge Replacement Begins for Watson Branch on Route W in Camden County

CAMDEN COUNTY - A project to replace the Watson Branch bridge on Route W in Camden County is scheduled to begin Monday, April 18, weather permitting.   The bridge is located approximately 3.5 miles west of U.S. 54.

The bridge will be closed to traffic during construction.  Motorists are asked to find alternate routes around the work area.  The bridge will remain closed until late May.

The bridge replacement is part of MoDOT's Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program, which will improve 800 of Missouri's worst bridges in five years - by the end of 2013.  Ninety bridges will be replaced or repaired in the mid-Missouri area as a part of this program.  Currently, over 340 of the bridges included in the program have been improved statewide.

For more information or for a complete listing of bridges included in the program, please call 1-888-ASK-MoDOT (275-6636) or log onto www.modot.org/central. You can also follow MoDOT's Central District on Twitter at https://twitter.com/MoDOT_Central.
