Construction Contracts Awarded to Resurface Mid-Missouri Highways

JEFFERSON CITY - At their monthly meeting on Dec. 1, the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission awarded seven construction contracts to resurface highways in Central Missouri. Work on all projects is scheduled to take place during the 2011 construction season, with completion dates in late fall 2011.

APAC - Missouri, Inc. of Columbia, Mo. was awarded a contract to resurface several routes in Boone County after submitting the low bid of $2,235,701.48. A thin lift overlay will be applied on 23.7 miles of Route 124, from the Howard County line to Route CC near Centralia. Almost 13 miles of Route E, from Route 124 to Interstate 70, and 2.3 miles of Route BB, from I-70 to the Route 240 Spur in Rocheport, will be resurfaced as part of this contract.

APAC-Missouri submitted the low bid of $3,014,854.95 to place thin lift overlays on two routes in Benton County. Just over 10 miles of Route C, from U.S. 65 to the Henry County line, and approximately 7.5 miles of Route E, from Route P to Route C, are included as part of the work. The contract award also includes resurfacing work in Henry and Johnson Counties.

The Commission awarded APAC-Missouri a third contract for thin lift overlay resurfacing work in Camden County. The project includes about 10 miles of Route 7, from Route 5 to three miles north of Route T, and approximately 26 miles of Route A, from U.S. 54 to Route 7 in Richland. The contract amount for the work was $1,488,779.72.

APAC-Missouri also submitted the low bid of $1,418,250.98 for thin lift overlay work in Moniteau, Miller, and Morgan Counties. Almost 10 miles of Route 87 will be resurfaced as part of the contract, from Route C in Moniteau County to just north of Business 54 in Miller County. Resurfacing will also take place on 18 miles of Route D in Morgan County, from U.S. 50 to Route 52, and on 2.4 miles of Route 52 in Miller County, from east of U.S. 54 to near Hays Drive in Eldon.

Magruder Paving LLC, of St. Louis, Mo. submitted the low bid of $1,941,289.56 to place a thin lift overlay on almost 12 miles of Route 100 in Gasconade County, from Route N to Route 19. The contract award also includes resurfacing work in Warren and Montgomery Counties.

Magruder Paving was awarded a contract to resurface eight miles of eastbound U.S. 54 in Miller County after submitting the low bid of $1,167,327.25. The resurfacing will take place from Business 54 near Eldon to the Cole County line.

The commission also awarded a third contract to Magruder Paving for resurfacing work in Callaway County. The contractor submitted the low bid of $1,282,600.95 to place thin lift overlays on two state routes in Callaway County. Over nine miles of Route Z will be resurfaced from Business Route 54 in Fulton to I-70. Almost 11 miles of Route F, from Route J to the end of state maintenance (Jefferson Street) in Fulton, will be resurfaced as part of the work. The contract award also includes resurfacing work in Audrain County.
