Safe & Sound Replacement Begins for I-70 North Outer Road Bridge over Cedar Creek in Boone County

BOONE COUNTY - A bridge replacement project on the Interstate 70 North Outer Road over Cedar Creek in Boone County began on Monday, Oct. 18.  The bridge is located just west of Route J.

The bridge is closed to traffic during construction, and motorists are asked to find an alternate route.  The bridge will remain closed through mid December.

The bridge replacement is part of MoDOT's Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program, which will improve 800 of Missouri's worst bridges in five years - by end of 2013.  Ninety bridges will be replaced or repaired in the mid-Missouri area as a part of this program. Currently, over 230 of the bridges included in the program have been improved statewide.

For more information about the planned work or for a complete listing of bridges included in the program, please call 1-888-ASK-MoDOT (275-6636) or log onto www.modot.org/central.  You can also follow MoDOT's Central District on Twitter at https://twitter.com/MoDOT_Central.
