Safe & Sound Bridge Replacement Begins for Route J Bridge over Prairie Hollow in Camden County

CAMDEN COUNTY - A bridge replacement project on Route J over Prairie Hollow in Camden County is scheduled to begin on Friday, Oct. 15, weather permitting.  The bridge is located approximately three miles north of U. S. Route 54.

The bridge will close to traffic during construction and traffic will be detoured around the area on Routes 54, 5 and 7.  The bridge is scheduled to open in early December.

The bridge replacement is part of MoDOT's Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program, which will improve 800 of Missouri's worst bridges in five years - by end of 2013.  Ninety bridges will be replaced or repaired in the mid-Missouri area as a part of this program. Over 225 bridges included in the program have been improved statewide.

For more information about the planned work or for a complete listing of bridges included in the program, please call 1-888-ASK-MoDOT (275-6636) or log onto www.modot.org/central.  You can also follow MoDOT's Central District on Twitter at https://twitter.com/MoDOT_Central.
