COOPER COUNTY - A bridge deck replacement on Route M over the Chouteau Creek Bridge in Cooper County begins today. The Route M bridge is located approximately two miles south of Interstate 70.

The bridge is closed to traffic during construction, which is scheduled through late November. Motorists will be detoured around the work area on Routes M, 135 and OO.

The improvements are part of MoDOT's Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program, which will improve 800 of Missouri's worst bridges in five years. Ninety bridges will be replaced or repaired in the mid-Missouri area as a part of this program.
