MARIES COUNTY - A bridge deck replacement on Route 42 at the Mills Spring Creek Bridge in Maries County is scheduled to begin on Monday, Oct. 19, weather permitting. The Mills Spring Creek Bridge is located four and a half miles from Route 28, between County Roads 317 and 319.

The bridge will be closed to traffic during construction, which is scheduled through late November. Motorists will be detoured around the work area on Routes 28 and Z.

The improvements are part of MoDOT's Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program, which will improve 800 of Missouri's worst bridges in five years. Ninety bridges will be replaced or repaired in the mid-Missouri area as a part of this program.
