CALLAWAY COUNTY - A bridge deck replacement for the Four Mile Creek Bridge on Route E in Callaway County has been completed and the bridge opened to traffic on Wednesday, August 12, 2009.The Four Mile Creek Bridge is located 1.5 miles east of Route DD. Work began on July 8 and the bridge has been closed to traffic during construction. The Missouri Department of Transportation extends its thanks to motorists for their patience while the work was underway.The deck replacement cost approximately $140,000. Don Schneiders Excavating Company, Inc. completed the work.The improvements are part of MoDOT's Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program, which will improve 800 of Missouri's worst bridges in five years. Ninety bridges will be replaced or repaired in the mid-Missouri area as a part of this program.Nine bridges, including the Four Mile Creek Bridge, have been completed in Central Missouri.
