JEFFERSON CITY - The Missouri Department of Transportation will hold a public meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 12 to discuss proposed improvements to the U.S. Route 50, Missouri Blvd. (Business Route 50) and Route 179 interchange area in Jefferson City.The open-house public meeting will be held from 4-6:30 p.m. in the MoDOT Central District Survey Building located at 1511 Missouri Blvd. The public may visit the meeting at any time during the advertised hours talk with members of the project team.The proposed improvements include realigning Missouri Blvd. at the Route 50 and Route 179 interchange. When completed, a bridge would allow Missouri Blvd. motorists to travel over Route 179 or use connector roads to access Route 179. Additional left-turn lanes would be constructed at several locations within the interchange area.The improvements are designed to increase traffic capacity and smooth traffic flow.
