MORGAN COUNTY - A bridge deck replacement on Route HH at the Smith Creek Bridge in Morgan County is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, August 4, weather permitting. The Smith Creek Bridge is located one mile east of Route 5.

The bridge will be closed to traffic during construction, which is scheduled through early September. Motorists will be detoured on Routes E, C, 52, and 5.

The improvements are part of MoDOT's Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program, which will improve 800 of Missouri's worst bridges in five years. Ninety bridges will be replaced or repaired in the mid-Missouri area as a part of this program.
