CALLAWAY/COOPER COUNTIES - Seven bridges over Interstate 70 in the mid-Missouri area will be among the first bridges to receive improvements as part of the Missouri Department of Transportation's Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program. The following bridges will be featured during open-house community briefings on November 6 and 13, 2008:Callaway County- Route J bridge over Interstate 70- Route M bridge over Interstate 70- Route JJ bridge over Interstate 70- Route D bridge over Interstate 70Cooper County- Route 41 bridge over Interstate 70- Route 5 bridge over Interstate 70- Route 179 bridge over Interstate 70The bridge deck on each of these bridges will be replaced. Work is planned for spring and summer 2009 and each bridge will be closed for several weeks during the work. MoDOT staff will be on hand to discuss details about the project plans and proposed detours.
