Ribbon Cutting Planned for Realigned I-44 Outer Road in Waynesville

WAYNESVILLE - On Friday, Aug. 12, state and local officials will gather at 10 a.m. on the I-44 Outer Road near Waynesville High School to celebrate the completion of a project that realigned a portion of the northeast outer roadway and added a stop light to the intersection at Route H.

The $1.5 million project was a joint effort between the Missouri Department of Transportation and the City of Waynesville.

"I am very pleased that the road has become a reality and I appreciate the support of MoDOT in cooperation with the City in making it happen," said Waynesville Mayor Cliff Hammock. "This new road and the signalized intersection will improve traffic flow and safety, not only for students at the Waynesville High School, but for our entire community."

The ribbon-cutting ceremony is open to the public. Guests should park along the outer road at the ceremony location.

H.D. Quadri Contractors, LLC, of Van Buren, Mo. was the contractor for the project, which started in November 2010.
