Route 17
Route 17 Osage River Bridge Replacement
American Recovery and Reinvestment Act

The Missouri Department of Transportation will replace the Route 17 bridge over the Osage River, one mile east of Tuscumbia. The project includes removing the existing bridge and constructing a new bridge just west of the existing structure. Nearly one-half mile of new roadway will be constructed, increasing sight distance on the south side of the bridge. The existing bridge was completed in 1933 at a width of 20 feet. The new bridge will be 28 feet wide, including shoulders to increase safety.

Contractor: APAC-Missouri Inc.

Award Cost: $8,489,728.28

Expected Completion Date: Fall 2010

Osage River Bridge is the First in the Nation Under Construction with Economic Recovery Act funding.


 
 
Route 17
Route 17 Overlay in Cole & Miller Counties
American Recovery and Reinvestment Act   Project Complete

The Missouri Department of Transportation will smooth the driving surface and improve safety on Route 17 in Cole and Miller Counties. Nearly 19 miles of Route 17 will be improved, from U.S. Route 54 to north of Route KK. Funding for the work comes from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

Work was completed on July 28, 2009.

Contractor: APAC-Missouri Inc. of Columbia, Mo.
