Camden County Route 5 Ribbon Cutting

The Bel Cantos Quartet performed the national anthem.

An estimated 100 people attended the morning ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The Camdenton Fire Department and the Mid-County Fire Protection District provided three fire trucks for the ceremony.

District Engineer Roger Schwartze talks about the logistics of completing such a big project, including the 7.3 million cubic yards of soil and rock excavated.

Missouri Highways and Transportation Commissioner Mike Kehoe emphasized the benefits the new route will bring to the community and the state.

Junior Miss Dogwood, Little Miss Dogwood, and Little Mister Dogwood.

U.S. Congressman Ike Skelton talked about the positive change seen in the Lake area over the years.

The Mule Kicker Cloggers performed during the evening celebration.


Over 50 corvettes and classic cars were on display during the evening celebration.

The line of corvettes stretched all the way down the on-ramp from the Route 54 and 5 interchange.


Buckle Bear couldn't miss greeting kids at the evening celebration.

A bounce house was set up by the Mid-County Fire Fighters Association.

ReMAX Realtors set up a hot air balloon near the Route 54 and 5 interchange during the evening celebration.
