Crews are finishing some slopes around the construction site and placing grass seed in the completed areas. In a few weeks the slopes will be covered with green grass.
When there is too much rock to excavate with normal equipment a blasting crew comes in to break it down. The blasted rock will be used to line ditches and as fill material based on its size and integrity.
Crews began work on this gabion wall back in October 2006, and it is now finished. The gabion wall is a structure made of wire and rock, and this one will keep the steep slope around the culvert pipe in place. That's a 90 inch pipe at the bottom of the wall.
