| The draft Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) is the
Missouri Department of Transportation's program for spending
Missouri's transportation-improvement funding over a five-year
period. The program is reviewed and approved each year
by the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission.
The most recent STIP, covering fiscal years 2006-2010,
is scheduled to be approved in July 2005.
MoDOT planning efforts procude two major documents - the Long-Range
Transportation Plan and Statewide Transportation Improvement
Program.
The Long-Range Transportation Direction
is a 20-year outlook based on investment goals, general
guidance and system focus; it does not include project
specifics.
The STIP is the project-specific listing
of transportation-improvement projects scheduled over
the next 5-year period that is updated annually.
