Daily Road Work for Mid-Missouri

Construction/Ongoing/Special Projects:

 

All Counties
Daylight/Evening Hours
Striping of roadways, mowing, brush cutting and guardrail repair continue in various locations.  Motorists should travel with care and be alert to slow-moving equipment along the road.

 

Boone County
Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route E over Rocky Fork, north of Wilcox Road AND

Route E over Perche Creek, south of Driskel  Road – Bridge deck replacement is complete. The bridges were opened to traffic on May 1.

Route OO over Hinkson Creek, southeast of Hallsville AND

Route UU over Sugar Branch Creek, west of Columbia – Bridge replacement is underway. Both bridges are closed during the work.

 

  • This week’s activities
    • Route OO closed on Tuesday, April 28 at Hinkson Creek for total bridge replacement.  The signed detours are as follows:  Northbound Route OO: South on Route OO to South on Route Z to West on Route HH to North on Route B to South on Route OO. Southbound Route OO: North on Route OO to South on Route B to East on Route HH to North on Route Z to North on Route OO.  The bridge is expected to reopen to traffic by August 10, 2015.

 

    • Route UU closed to traffic on Tuesday, May 5 at Sugar Branch Creek for total bridge replacement.  The signed detours are as follows:  Northbound Route UU: South/West on Route UU to North on Route O to East on I-70 to South on Route UU.  Southbound Route UU:  North on Route UU to West on I-70 to South on Route O to East/North on Route UU.  The bridge is expected to reopen to traffic by September 4, 2015.

 

Camden County
Daylight Hours

Route 5 in Sunrise Beach – Roadway widening continues.
       * Crews will continue grading and earthwork operations during the week of May 11. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in August.

Route D between Route 54 and Route E in Laclede County – Roadway resurfacing continues.

       * Paving, striping and guardrail and sign installation will take place the week of May 11. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in June.

Route J between Route 54 and Route 7 – Roadway resurfacing continues.

       * Crews will install signs and guard rail during the week of May 11. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in July.

Route Y between Route 54 and County Road Y-30 – Resurfacing and shoulder work continues.

       * Crews will install signs and guard rail during the week of May 11. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in July.

Cole County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 50 (Whitton Expressway) and the Lafayette Street Interchange -
Interchange construction, lane construction, and bridge improvements continue.
        * Blasting operations will take place daily between noon and 2:30 p.m. during the week of May 11 and continue for several weeks. Both eastbound and westbound lanes will be closed for approximately 15 minutes while the blasting takes place.

       * Crews will pour concrete for sidewalks along the Chestnut Street bridge during the week of May 11.

       * Elm Street is permanently closed from east of Lafayette Street.

       * The Chestnut Street bridge is closed until completion in the summer. The Jackson Street Bridge will remain closed until completion in August 2016.

Cooper County
Daylight Hours
Interstate 70 between Route 87 and the Boone County line -
Pavement repair work and resurfacing.

This week’s activities:  Starting Wednesday, May 13, weather permitting, crews will begin pavement repair operations on I-70.  Work will start in the eastbound lanes between Route 87 and the Missouri River Bridge.  One lane of I-70 will be closed during the overnight hours starting at 6 p.m. and will re-open by 6 a.m.  The work is scheduled to take place Monday through Thursday nights.  Once eastbound I-70 pavement repair work is completed, the contractor will begin working in the westbound lanes.

 

Route 179 between Interstate 70 and the Moniteau County lineCulvert pipe replacement begins the week of May 4.

This week’s activities:  Route 179 will be closed for culvert replacement for a period of three days starting Monday, May 11 between Route V and Oerly Drive.  Signed detours will be in place.  Northbound:  South on Route 179 to West/North on Route 87 to I-70 East to South on Route 179.  Southbound:  North on Route 179 to I-70 West to South/East on Route 87 to North on Route 179.  In the event that weather does not permit this work to take place on Monday, work will begin later in the week when the weather clears.         

 

Dent County
Daylight Hours

Route J between Route 32 and Route 72 – Pavement and drainage improvements continue.

       * Work on the sidewalk ramps and side road approaches and entrances will take place the week of May 11. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Howard County
Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route A over Moniteau Creek AND

Route E over Adams Fork, west of Route 5 – Bridge reconstruction continues.

  • Route E at Adams Fork closed on Monday, March 16 for bridge replacement.  Detours for Route E are signed as follows:  Westbound Route E: South on Route 5, west on Route J, north on Route 87, east on Route E. Eastbound Route E: West on Route E, south on Route 87, east on Route J, north on Route 5. Route E is expected to reopen to traffic in mid-June.
  • Route A over Moniteau Creek opened to traffic on Thursday, May 7.

 

Morgan County
Daylight Hours
Route 135 between Route 5 and Route 52 –
Roadway resurfacing continues.
       * Crews will continue grading and earthwork operations during the week of May 11. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in August.

Phelps County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 8 over Dry Fork Creek just south of St. James –
Bridge replacement continues.
       * Concrete for bridge girders has been poured and deck panels will be installed during the week of May 11. Occasional lane closures are possible. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

Daylight Hours
Route 68 between Interstate 44 and Route 63 in Maries County -
Roadway resurfacing and shoulder widening continues. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in October.
