Daily Road Work for Mid-Missouri

Construction/Ongoing/Special Projects:


All Counties
Daylight/Evening Hours
Striping of roadways, mowing, brush cutting and guardrail repair continue in various locations.  Motorists should travel with care and be alert to slow-moving equipment along the road.

 

Boone County
Daylight Hours
Route 22 between Route 151 and the Audrain County line
– Roadway surface work will take place the week of June 22. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route 63 between the Gans Creek Bridge and the Bonne Femme Creek bridge AND

Route 63 at the Turkey Creek bridge, south of Route AB – Bridge maintenance.


This week’s activities:  Work will conclude the week of June 22. No traffic impact or lane closures are expected.

Route OO over Hinkson Creek, southeast of Hallsville AND

Route UU over Sugar Branch Creek, west of Columbia – Bridge replacement is underway. Both bridges are closed during the work. The signed detours for Route OO are as follows:  Northbound Route OO: South on Route OO to South on Route Z to West on Route HH to North on Route B to South on Route OO.  Southbound Route OO: North on Route OO to South on Route B to East on Route HH to North on Route Z to North on Route OO. The bridge is expected to reopen to traffic by August 10, 2015.

The signed detours for Route UU are as follows:  Northbound Route UU: South/West on Route UU to North on Route O to East on I-70 to South on Route UU.  Southbound Route UU:  North on Route UU to West on I-70 to South on Route O to East/North on Route UU. The bridge is expected to reopen to traffic by September 4, 2015.

 

Route F between Route 124 and Route 63 - Paving is expected to be completed in both lanes on the area south of Perche Creek first, and then the contractor will move to the northern portion of Route F after the Fourth of July holiday.  If the south end of the project does not get completed on Saturday, the contractor will finish up on Monday, June 22. Work hours will be from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. Paving will be followed by driveway rock installation and striping.   A pilot car will guide vehicles through the work zone.  In the event of rain during the week, operations are expected to take place on Saturdays.  

    

Camden County
Daylight Hours

Route 5 in Sunrise Beach – Roadway widening continues.
       * Crews will continue grading and earthwork operations during the week of June 22. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in August.

Route 7 between Route 5 and Route A – Roadway sealing will take place the week of June 29. One lane will be open, and crews and a pilot car will guide traffic through the work area.

Route A between Route 7 and Route 54 – Roadway sealing will take place the week of June 22. One lane will be open, and crews and a pilot car will guide traffic through the work area.

Route A over Boer Creek, north of Richland - Bridge deck replacement is underway. The bridge is closed to traffic during the work. Motorists will be detoured around the work area via Route 7 and Route E. The project is scheduled for completion in July.

 

Route T between Route 7 and Route H – Roadway sealing will take place the week of June 22. One lane will be open, and crews and a pilot car will guide traffic through the work area.


Cole County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 50 (Whitton Expressway) and the Lafayette Street Interchange -
Interchange construction, lane construction, and bridge improvements continue.
        * Blasting operations will take place daily between noon and 2:30 p.m. during the week of June 22. Both eastbound and westbound lanes will be closed for approximately 15 minutes while the blasting takes place.

       * Sanitary sewer installation will continue during the week of June 22.

       * The Jackson Street Bridge will remain closed until completion in August 2016.

 

Cooper County
Daylight Hours

Route 179 between Interstate 70 and the Moniteau County lineCulvert pipe replacement continues.

This week’s activities:  Any asphalt work remaining for the culvert replacement locations on Route 179 will be completed on Monday, June 22, weather permitting. The contractor has been placing asphalt over each of the seven culverts that were replaced earlier this summer.  While work is taking place, the road will be completely closed at each location for a period of 2-3 hours.  The contractor began at the southernmost culvert between Copps Chapel Road and Big Lick Road, and has been working north. Message boards will be at either end of the project limits alerting traffic as each closure occurs.  Signed detours are in place.  Northbound:  South on Route 179 to West/North on Route 87 to I-70 East to South on Route 179.  Southbound: North on Route 179 to I-70 West to South/East on Route 87 to North on Route 179. Route 179 will be completely resurfaced between Route 98 and Route 87 next year as part of this contract.   


Laclede County
Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route F at the Burlington Northern Santé Fe Railroad
– Railroad crossing repairs are underway. The crossing is scheduled to close to traffic the week of July 6 to realign both road and railroad tracks. The project is scheduled for completion in August.

Maries County
Daylight Hours
Route 42 between Route 133 and Osage Beach Parkway in Miller County –
Roadway sealing is underway. One lane is open, and crews and a pilot car will guide traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in late June.

 

 

Miller County
Daylight Hours

Route Y between Route 52 and Hickory Road in Morgan County – Roadway resurfacing and shoulder widening will begin June 22. One lane will be open, and crews and a pilot car will guide traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in September.

 

Morgan County
Daylight Hours
Route 135 between Route 5 and Route 52 –
Roadway resurfacing continues.
       * Crews will continue shoulder paving operations during the week of June 22. One lane will be open and a pilot car will guide motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in August.

 

Osage County
Daylight Hours

Route N between Route 50 and Route 100 in Gasconade County - Chip sealing roadway surface to extend pavement life. The operation is scheduled to take place the week of June 22. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete. At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. Motorists should expect delays and lower their speeds through the area. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Phelps County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 8 over Dry Fork Creek just south of St. James –
Bridge replacement continues.
       * Concrete approaches on each side of the bridge will be poured during the week of June 22. Minimal traffic interruptions expected. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

Route 68 between Interstate 44 and Route 63 in Maries County - Roadway resurfacing and shoulder widening continues.

* Grading, striping and guardrail work will take place the week of June 22. One lane will be open, and crews and a pilot car will guide traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in October.

 

 

Maintenance Projects:

Callaway County
Daylight Hours
Route 54 between Route H and Route J –
Roadway maintenance in the eastbound and westbound lanes. One eastbound lane and one westbound lane will be open through the work area.


Cole County
Daylight Hours
Route N between Route 179 and Route NN –
Roadway maintenance. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Route NN between Route N and Route U – Roadway maintenance. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
