Daily Road Work for Mid-Missouri

Construction/Ongoing/Special Projects:

All Counties
Daylight Hours
Striping of roadways, mowing, brush cutting and guardrail repair continue in various locations.  Motorists should travel with care and be alert to slow-moving equipment along the road.

Boone County

Overnight Hours

Route 63 between Route 763 (Rangeline Street) and Route WW (Broadway Street) – Concrete pavement repairs in the northbound and southbound lanes will continue the week of July 27. One northbound lane and one southbound lane will be open through the work area. The work is expected to be completed in mid-August.

Route 63 Connector at Interstate 70 – Concrete pavement repairs in the northbound and southbound lanes will continue the week of July 27. One northbound lane and one southbound lane will be open through the work area. The work is expected to be completed in mid-August.

Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route UU over Sugar Branch Creek, west of Columbia
– Bridge replacement continues. The bridge is closed during the work.

       * Asphalt work to tie the new bridge into the existing roadway will take place the week of July 27. Grading, guardrail installation, seeding and striping will also take place. The project is scheduled for completion in September.

       * The signed detours for Route UU are as follows:  Northbound Route UU: South/West on Route UU to North on Route O to East on I-70 to South on Route UU.  Southbound Route UU:  North on Route UU to West on I-70 to South on Route O to East/North on Route UU. The bridge is expected to reopen to traffic by September 4, 2015.

 

Camden County
Daylight Hours

Route 5 in Sunrise Beach – Roadway widening continues.
       * Crews will continue grading and guardrail installation during the week of July 27. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in August.

 

Cole County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 50 (Whitton Expressway) and the Lafayette Street Interchange -
Interchange construction, lane construction, and bridge improvements continue.

       * Blasting operations continue the week of July 27, and take place daily between noon and 2:30 p.m. Both eastbound and westbound lanes will be closed for approximately 15 minutes while the blasting takes place.

       * The westbound driving lane of Route 50/63 is closed from Clark Avenue to Monroe Street until September. Travelers on westbound Route 50/63 into Jefferson City may experience delays during peak traffic times, especially during morning and afternoon rush hours.

       * The westbound on ramp from Clark Avenue is closed until September.

       * Lafayette Street from Dunklin Street to East Elm is closed until September.

       * The Jackson Street Bridge will remain closed until completion in August 2016.

Motorists are asked to plan ahead and take alternate routes around the area. 


Cooper County
Daylight/Overnight Hours

Interstate 70 between Route 87 and the Boone County line – Pavement repair and resurfacing continues.

       * The contractor will perform crack sealing operations under a moving lane closure in the eastbound and westbound lanes during the week of July 27.

       * Guardrail repair work along the eastbound and westbound lanes will take place during the overnight hours the week of July 27 with one lane closed. The work is expected to be completed in mid-September.

 

Crawford County
Daylight Hours

Route 19 over Crooked Creek, north of Blackstock Road – Bridge inspection will take place the week of August 3. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route N over the Meramec River, west of Hinch Road – Bridge inspection will take place the week of August 3. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

 

Howard County
Daylight Hours

Route 40 over Moniteau Creek, east of County Road 240 – Bridge inspection will take place the week of July 27. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 40 over Salt Creek, east of County Road 445 – Bridge inspection will take place the week of July 27. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

 

Laclede County
Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route F at the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad– Railroad crossing repairs continue.

       * The crossing is closed to traffic, to allow for the realignment of the roadway and finish improvements to the crossing. The project is scheduled for completion in mid-August.

Maries County
Daylight Hours
Route 42 between Route 133 and Osage Beach Parkway in Miller County –
Chip sealing of the roadway surface to extend pavement life continues.

       * Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface until crews sweep the roadway. One lane will be open, and crews and a pilot car will guide traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in late July.

Route 63 between North Route 28 and South Route 28 – Roadway resurfacing and shoulder widening continues.

       * The contractor will repair concrete on the roadway during the week of July 27. One lane will be open, and crews and a pilot car will guide traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in October.

 

Miller County
Daylight Hours

Route P between Route 87 and Main Street in Olean - Roadway resurfacing continues.

       * Crews will begin grading work during the week of July 27. One lane will be open, and crews and a pilot car will guide traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in October.

Route Y between Route 52 and Hickory Road in Morgan County – Roadway resurfacing and shoulder widening continues.

       * The contractor will repair box culverts in preparation for shoulder widening operations during the week of July 27. One lane will be open, and crews and a pilot car will guide traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in September.

 

Moniteau County
Daylight Hours
Route 87 between Route 50 and Business Route 54 in Miller County
- Roadway resurfacing and shoulder widening continues.

       * Work has been suspended until early August. The project is scheduled for completion in October.

 

Morgan County
Daylight Hours
Route 135 between Route 5 and Route 52 –
Roadway resurfacing continues.
       * Crews will install rumble strips and stripe the road during the week of July 27. One lane will be open, and crews and a pilot car will guide traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in August.

 

Osage County
Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route Y over Little Third Creek, north of County Road 736 –Bridge deck replacement continues. The bridge is closed to traffic during the work. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route around the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in August.

 

Phelps County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 8 over Dry Fork Creek just south of St. James – Bridge replacement continues.
       * The contractor plans to continue grading operations for the new roadway during the week July 27.  Minimal traffic interruptions are expected. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

Route 68 between Interstate 44 and Route 63 in Maries County - Roadway resurfacing and shoulder widening continues.

       * Grading work will take place the week of July 27. One lane will be open, and crews and a pilot car will guide traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in October.

 

 

Pulaski County
Daylight Hours

Route Y between the I-44 North Outer Road and Holtzman Road - Roadway resurfacing will begin Monday, July 27. One lane will be open, and crews and a pilot car will guide traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in October.
