Daily Road Work for Mid-Missouri

Construction/Ongoing/Special Projects:

All Counties
Daylight/Evening Hours
Striping of roadways, mowing, brush cutting and guard rail repair continues in various locations.  Motorists should travel with care and be alert to slow-moving equipment along the road.

 

Boone County
Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route 63 in Ashland – Work includes bridge deck repairs on the Route M and Y overpass; construction of a J-turn on Route 63 south of Peterson Lane; elimination of existing median crossovers at Liberty and Peterson lanes; installation of roundabouts on Routes M and Y at the Route 63 overpass; pavement resurfacing of northbound and southbound Route 63 between Route WW and Route 54 in Callaway County.

       * The contractor will begin paving crossover intersections the week of September 22. The work will require short daytime lane closures near the crossovers.

       * Crews will install new guardrail at various locations along Route 63 during the week of September 22.

       * The existing pavement on the roundabouts at the Route Y and M interchange will be replaced the week of September 22. Motorist can expect alternating one-way traffic through the area.
       * Shoulder sealing will take place the week of September 22. No lane closures are expected, but traffic will move slowly through the area.

The project is scheduled for completion in November.

Overnight Hours

Route 163 (Providence Road) between Business Loop 70 and Route 740 (Stadium Boulevard) - Roadway resurfacing and striping continues.

       * Route 163 from Stadium to Route K: The majority of the resurfacing and sidewalk work is complete and the roadway has been striped. Lane closures are possible near the intersection of Mick Deaver Drive during the week of September 22.  

       * Route 763 at Interstate 70: Work is currently suspended in the area. 

       * Route 163 from Business Loop to Stadium: The contractor will continue ADA work on the sidewalks the week of September 29.

 

Route 740 (Stadium Boulevard) at Interstate 70 – Widening of Stadium Boulevard is nearing completion.  A ribbon cutting ceremony is planned for Friday, September 26.

Route 763 between Business Loop 70 and Big Bear Boulevard AND
Business Loop 70 between West Boulevard and Eastland Drive
- Roadway resurfacing and traffic signal improvements.

       * Business Loop 70:  The contractor has completed the resurfacing work and the roadway has been striped, with the exception of the area from the railroad tracks to Interstate 70.  The contractor will resume paving in October. 

       * Route 763 (Rangeline):  The contractor has completed the resurfacing work and most of the striping on Rangeline and Route 163 (Providence Road) between Business Loop 70 and Interstate 70.     

 This project is scheduled for completion in October.

Daylight Hours
Route 63 at Hinton Road
– Intersection improvements in the northbound and southbound lanes continue.

       * J-turns are scheduled to open to motorists on Monday, September 22. The existing crossovers at Hinton Road and Calvert Hill Road will be closed when the J-turn is opened.

       * Occasional lane closures are likely through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in October.

Route WW between Route 63 and Route J - Roadway resurfacing and widening of shoulders continues. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in November.


Callaway County
Daylight Hours

Route 54/Route 63 over the Missouri River in Jefferson City - Bridge inspection in the westbound/southbound lanes will take place the week of September 22. One westbound/southbound lane will be open through the work area.

 

Route 54 between County Road 147 and the Audrain County line - Roadway resurfacing continues. One lane is open through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in November.

 

Route 54 at Route FF/Old Route 40 – Traffic signal installation, construction of turn lanes, and new roadway construction is nearing completion. One lane is open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in mid-September.

 

Route 63 over Route 54 in Jefferson City - Bridge inspection in the northbound lanes will take place the week of September 22. One northbound lane will be open through the work area.

Route F over Stinson Creek in Fulton – Bridge rehabilitation is complete. The bridge was opened to traffic on September 17.

Route F between Route 54 and Route J - Roadway resurfacing and widening of shoulders continues. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in November.

Route J between Interstate 70 and Route M - Roadway resurfacing and widening of shoulders continues. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in November.

Route W over Route 54 in Jefferson City - Bridge inspection will take place the week of September 22. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route DD between Interstate 70 and Route D in Audrain County - Resurfacing work is complete.

 

Camden County
Daylight Hours

Route 7 between Route 5 and Route 65 in Benton County - Roadway resurfacing continues. One lane is open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

 

Cole County
Overnight Hours

Route 179 between Route 50 and Route 54 – Roadway resurfacing and shoulder improvement is nearing completion.

* Striping operations are planned for the week of September 22. One lane is open through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in November.  

 

Cooper County

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route 41 over the Lamine River, north of Moehle Mill Road – Bridge replacement continues.  The bridge is closed during the work.  The project is scheduled for completion in October.

 

Dent County

Daylight Hours

Route 19 between Route 32 and Route KK in Shannon County – Roadway resurfacing continues. One lane is open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in November.  

 

Route J between Route 72 and Route 32 – Pavement and drainage improvements continue. The road is closed between Route 72 and 3rd Street during the work. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route around the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in November.  

 

Gasconade County

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route H over Fork Creek, south of Garner Road – Bridge replacement continues. The bridge is closed to traffic. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route around the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in October.

Route 19 between Route 28 and Krausetown Road –
Roadway resurfacing and widening of shoulders continues.

              * The contractor will be excavating for the additional lane along Route 19 during the week of September 22. One lane is open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
The project is scheduled for completion in November.  

 

Howard County

Daylight Hours

Route 40 over Moniteau Creek, at the Boone County line – Bridge rehabilitation will begin the week of September 22. The bridge will close at 1 a.m. on Monday, September 22. A detour is in place, utilizing Spur 40, Route BB, Interstate 70 and Route J.  The project is scheduled for completion in mid-October.

 

Laclede County

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route 32 between Route 5 and Route 65 in Dallas County – Roadway resurfacing and widening of shoulders continues. One lane is open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The entire project is scheduled for completion in November.

 

Overnight Hours

Route 5 between Interstate 44 and Route 64 – Roadway resurfacing continues. One lane is closed through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in late September.

 

 

Miller County
Daylight Hours

Route CC between Route 52 and Route E in Moniteau County - Chip sealing roadway surface to extend pavement life. The operation will take place the week of September 22. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete.  At that time, crews will sweep the roadway.  Drivers should lower their speeds through the area. Motorists should expect delays. One lane will be open, and a pilot car will lead traffic through the work area.

 

Phelps County

Overnight Hours

Route 63 between Route BB and Route CC – Pavement and sidewalk improvements continue.
       * The contractor will replace entrances between Fort Wyman Road and Route 72 during the week of September 22. The contractor will also be installing pedestrian signal upgrades at the intersection of Kingshighway and Route 63. 

* The contractor will close the entrances to Williams Road and Stroback Street during the week of September 22.

One lane is open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in December.

Route 72 between Route F and Route 32 in Dent County – Roadway resurfacing continues. One lane is open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in November.

Route 47 between Route 21 and the St. Francois County line - Roadway resurfacing continues. The project is scheduled for completion in November.

 

Route 47 between Route 21 and the Franklin County line - Roadway resurfacing continues. The project is scheduled for completion in November.

Boone County
Daylight Hours
Route 63 between Roy Barnes Road and McComas Road
- Roadway maintenance in the southbound lanes. One southbound lane will be open through the work area.

 

Route O between Interstate 70 and the end of state maintenance – Roadway maintenance. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route UU between Route 40 and Route O – Roadway maintenance. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Callaway County
Overnight Hours

Interstate 70 between mile marker 136 and mile marker 138 – Culvert pipe maintenance in the eastbound and westbound lanes. One eastbound lane and one westbound lane will be open through the work area.

Daylight Hours

Route O at Auxvasse Creek, east of County Road 111 – Roadside maintenance. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route O at Crow’s Fork Creek, east of County Road 419 – Roadside maintenance. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route Z between Wood Street and Vine Street – Culvert pipe replacement. The road will be closed between 8:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route around the work area.

 

Camden County
Daylight Hours

Route 5 between Route F and Spring Cove Road 5 – Roadside maintenance. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Route 7 between Route 5 and Route 65 in Benton County - Roadway resurfacing continues. One lane is open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

Route D between Route 54 and Route E in Laclede County – Culvert pipe maintenance in various locations. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Cole County
Daylight Hours

Route NN between Route N and Route U - Roadway maintenance. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Cooper County

Daylight Hours

Route PP between Route 5 and the end of state maintenance – Roadway maintenance. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
