Daily Road Work for Mid-Missouri

Construction/Ongoing/Special Projects:


All Counties
Daylight/Evening Hours
Occasional striping of roadways, mowing, brush cutting and guardrail repair continues in various locations.  Motorists should travel with care and be alert to slow-moving equipment along the road.

 

Boone County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route E over Rocky Fork, north of Wilcox Road AND

Route E over Perche Creek, south of Driskel  Road – Bridge deck replacement continues. Both bridges are closed during the work.

  • This week’s activities:  Route E closed on Monday, March 16 for bridge deck replacement on the Perche Creek and Rocky Fork Creek bridges (locally known as the twin bridges).  The signed detours are as follows:  Northbound Route E: West on Interstate 70, north on Route J, east on Route 124, south on Route E.  Southbound Route E: West on Route 124, south on Route J, east on Interstate 70.  The bridges are expected to reopen to traffic by June 5, 2015.  

 

Callaway County
Daylight Hours

Route 54 over the Missouri River Bridge in Jefferson City – Bridge inspection in the eastbound lanes will take place the week of April 6. One eastbound lane will be open through the work area.

 

 

Camden County
Daylight Hours

Route 5 in Sunrise Beach – Roadway widening continues.

       * Culvert pipe replacement and installation will take place the week of March 30. Crews will also begin grading work to prepare for the construction of an additional lane. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

The project is scheduled for completion in August.

Route Y between Route 54 and County Road Y-30 – Resurfacing and shoulder work continues.

       * Asphalt placement for the new two-foot-wide shoulders is planned for the week of March 30.

       * Resurfacing of the current roadway will take place the week of April 6. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

The project is scheduled for completion in June.

 

Cole County

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route 50 (Whitton Expressway) and the Lafayette Street Interchange - Interchange construction, lane construction, and bridge improvements continue.

       * Elm Street will be permanently closed from East of Lafayette Street on Wednesday, April 1 at 9 .a.m. 

       * The Chestnut Street bridge is closed until completion in the summer. The Jackson Street bridge will remain closed until completion in August 2016.

 

Dent County
Daylight Hours

Route J between Route 32 and Route 72 – Pavement and drainage improvements continue.

       * Work on the side road approaches and entrances will take place the week of March 30. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Howard County
Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route A over Moniteau Creek AND

Route E over Adams Fork, west of Route 5

Bridge deck replacement is underway. The bridge is closed during the work.

 

This week’s activities

  • Route E at Adams Fork closed on Monday, March 16 for bridge replacement.  Detours for Route E are signed as follows:  Westbound Route E: South on Route 5, west on Route J, north on Route 87, east on Route E. Eastbound Route E: West on Route E, south on Route 87, east on Route J, north on Route 5.  Route E is expected to reopen to traffic in mid-June.
  • Route A over Moniteau Creek will close on Monday, March 23 after the morning rush hour for bridge deck replacement.  Detours for Route A are signed as follows:  Northbound Route A: West on Route W, east on Route 124, north on Route A.  Southbound Route A: West on Route 124, east on Route W, south on Route A.  Route A is expected to reopen to traffic in early June.

Route 17 between Route 42 and Route 52 –
Guard rail replacement and repair will take place during the week of March 30. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Phelps County

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route 8 over Dry Fork Creek just south of St. James – Bridge replacement continues.

       * Occasional lane closures are possible during the week of March 30. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

 

Pulaski County
Daylight Hours

Interstate 44 over Trophy Lane, west of the Phelps County line – Bridge inspection in the eastbound and westbound lanes will take place the week of April 6. One eastbound lane and one westbound lane will be open through the work area.

 

Interstate 44 over the Big Piney River, west of the Phelps County line – Bridge inspection in the eastbound and westbound lanes will take place the week of April 6. One eastbound lane and one westbound lane will be open through the work area.

 

Interstate 44 over Superior Road, west of Business Loop 44 – Bridge inspection in the eastbound lanes will take place the week of April 6. One eastbound lane will be open through the work area.

 

 

Maintenance Projects:

Cooper County
Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route K at the Blackwater Railroad Crossing – Repairs by Union Pacific Railroad. The road will be closed to traffic.  Traffic will be detoured using Interstate 70, Route 41 and Route K.
