2008-2012 Statewide Highway & Bridge Construction Schedule
JEFFERSON CITY - The following is a listing of general highway maintenance and construction work in the mid-Missouri area for the week of May 12-16, 2008. Weather conditions may cause postponements in the work schedule. Other construction or maintenance work may occur on other roadways throughout the area. Many projects will include lane closures and delays can be expected. MoDOT reminds the public to buckle up, slow down, follow posted signing and drive safely through work areas. Boone County
Overnight/Daylight Hours
Route 63, Gans Road Interchange, south of Route AC in Columbia – Interchange construction. Utility relocation and excavation continues. Construction on the bridge piers for the interchange bridge over Route 63 will continue as weather permits. Motorists should be advised the north and southbound lanes are narrowed to eleven feet. Other lane closures are possible throughout the work.
* Ponderosa Street, north of Gans Road, is now permanently closed.
* The intersection of Gans Road and Ponderosa Street is also closed to all traffic. The intersection is expected to reopen in July. Motorists are asked to use alternate routes to reach their destinations. The project is expected to be complete in late 2008.
I-70 between Route 40 and the Missouri River Bridge – Sections of concrete will be replaced in various locations in the westbound lanes. One westbound lane of traffic will be open to traffic in each work area. Due to the nature of the work, one lane may remain closed during the overnights hours to allow the concrete to cure properly.
I-70 at the Missouri River Bridge – Crews will sweep the east and westbound bridges during the overnight hours on Sunday, May 11. One lane in each direction on each bridge will be open to traffic.
Daylight Hours
Route 63 at Route B, COLT Railroad Crossing – Interactive flashers which complement the new railroad exemption signs will be activated in the southbound lanes on Monday, May 12. During the work, the exit ramp to Route B will be closed for approximately two hours. Motorists are advised to use caution through the area.
Route 763 between Big Bear Blvd. and Prathersville Road in Columbia – Roadway widening.
* The roadway between Big Bear Blvd. and Smiley Lane are narrowed to ten feet.
* Utilities continue to be relocated in various locations.
* The signals at Prathersville Road were removed on Tuesday, May 6, to make way for the construction of the roundabout. The intersection is now a four-way stop with temporary stop signs installed.
The project is expected to be complete by August 2009.
Route 40 Overpass at I-70 – Bridge deck repairs will place on the overpass on Monday, May 12. One lane of the bridge will be open to traffic.

Callaway County
Daylight Hours
I-70, Cedar Creek Bridge, just east of the Boone County line – Bridge deck repairs will take place on Tuesday, May 13, and Wednesday, May 14. On Tuesday, crews will work on the eastbound bridge and continue on Wednesday on the westbound bridge. One lane in each direction will be open to traffic on the respective day listed above.

Camden County
Daylight Hours
Route 5 from two miles south of the Niangua Bridge to Route 7 – New roadway, interchanges and bridges. Grading, drainage measures and placement of base rock for new roadway in the area approximately two miles south of the Niangua Bridge.
* Erosion control will take place throughout the project area.
* Construction continues on the substructure for the Lake Road 5-92 bridge.
* Excavation will continue near the connection of Lake Rd. 5-84 and 5-89.
Traffic on Route 5 is not affected at this time. The project is expected to be complete by fall 2008.
Route 54, just west of Route 42 – Grading, paving and new bridge construction at the future Route 54 and Business Route 54 interchange in Osage Beach. Contractor continues to lay asphalt from the existing roadway to the new westbound bridge. Westbound motorists will have access to the new bridge on Wednesday, May 14. Traffic on Route 54 is not restricted at this time.
Route 54 Expressway, between Business 54 south and the Grand Glaize Bridge in Osage Beach – Grading, paving and new bridge construction.
* Excavating and retaining wall construction continues near Passover Road. Motorists using Passover Road should be aware of construction vehicles crossing the roadway.
* Temporary traffic signals are currently in place on Passover Road to assist with traffic.
* Excavation will start between Fish Hatchery Road and the Factory Outlet Mall.
Traffic on Route 54 is not affected at this time. The project will be complete by 2010.
Route 54, just west of Route 42 – Crews will mill the roadway surface in the westbound lanes Monday, May 12, through Thursday, May 15. One westbound lane will be open.
Route 54 between Route KK and Route 5 – Shoulder repairs will take place Monday, May 12, through Thursday, May 15, in various locations in the east and westbound lanes. One lane in each direction in each work area will be open to traffic.
Route 54 between the north Camdenton city limits to Route AA – Crews will clean the rock cuts in various locations along the westbound lanes Tuesday, May 13, through Thursday, May 15. One westbound lane will open to traffic.
Route MM, three miles west of the Lake Ozark Community Bridge – Permit work to create a new portion of Route MM. The new section of roadway has opened to traffic, however, the contractor is completing shoulder work and final grading operations. Periodic lane closures may continue on Route MM throughout the week.
Route 5 between Old Route 5 and south of Route P in Laclede County – Shared four-lane project. A groundbreaking ceremony will take place on Monday, May 12, at 10:30 a.m. in an area just south of Route P in Camden County. Grading work will begin shortly after the ceremony. Traffic on Route 5 will not be affected at this time. This portion of the project is expected to be complete in 2010.
Route 54 between the Grand Glaize Bridge in Camden County and Route 52 in Miller County – Crews will sweep and clean the bridges along the east and westbound lanes between the locations given above Monday, May 12, through Thursday, May 15. One lane in each direction in each location will be open to traffic.

Cole County
Overnight/Daylight Hours
Route W, Spring Creek Bridge – Motorists should be aware that the 10-ton weight limit remains in place on the bridge.
Route 50/63 at City View – Interchange construction. Crews will continue removing rock on the north side of the roadway. Both east and westbound Route 50/63 traffic will be stopped for short intervals periodically to blast rock.
* Temporary concrete barrier is installed on both east and westbound shoulders at City View.
* A temporary crossover has been constructed in the median just east of City View.
* Work continues on the overpass bridge in the median and on sides of Route 50 at City View along with the interchange and ramps.
* City View Drive at Route 50/63 opened to traffic on Tuesday, May 6.
The interchange will be open to traffic by the end of 2008.
Route 50 between Henwick Lane west of Route T in Cole County and Route K in Moniteau County – Grading, paving and drainage work for new four-lane highway. Construction of box culverts and grading will continue.
* Mockingbird Road in Moniteau County will be closed at Route 50 on Monday, May 12, after morning rush hour. The access to Route 50 will be closed for approximately three weeks as construction continues on the project. Motorists are asked to use alternate routes.
Traffic on Route 50 is not affected at this time.

Daylight Hours
Route 41, Lamine River Bridge, approximately two miles north of I-70 – Bridge repairs will continue. One lane of the bridge will be open to traffic.
Route 135, at the Lamine River Bridge, approximately two miles north of Route BB – Bridge replacement is complete and the bridge and roadway will reopen to traffic on Monday, May 12.

Maries County
Daylight Hours
Route 42, Little Maries River Bridge, just east of Route 133 – Bridge deck repairs will continue Tuesday, May 13, and Wednesday, May 14. One lane of the bridge will be open to traffic.
Route 28, Dry Fork Creek, approximately three miles north of Route 63 in Vichy – Bridge deck repairs will take place on Thursday, May 15. One lane of the bridge will be open to traffic.

Miller County
Overnight Hours
Business Route 54, Bagnell Dam – By permit, Ameren UE plans to inspect the Bagnell Dam each night during the week of May 12. One lane of the dam will be open to traffic.
Daylight Hours
Route M at Adams Road, west of the end of state maintenance – Crews will cut and remove a tree at the location on Monday, May 12. One lane of roadway will be open in the work area.
Route 54 between the Grand Glaize Bridge in Camden County and Route 52 in Miller County – Crews will sweep and clean the bridges along the east and westbound lanes between the locations given above Monday, May 12, through Thursday, May 15. One lane in each direction in each location will be open to traffic.

Moniteau County
Daylight Hours
Route 5 between Route 50 in Moniteau County and the Morgan County line – Roadway maintenance will take place in various locations. One lane in each location will be open to traffic.
Overnight/Daylight Hours

Route T, Loose Creek Bridge, just north of the Maries County line – Bridge deck repairs will take place on Thursday, May 15. One lane of the bridge will be open to traffic.

Pettis County
Overnight/Daylight Hours
Route 65 between Bothwell Road, located south of Route D, and Route H – Concrete replacement will continue in various locations in the southbound lanes. To allow the concrete to cure properly, one southbound lane will be closed to traffic 24-hours a day in each location.
Daylight Hours
Route 50 between Sunset Drive and Carr Avenue in Sedalia
Route 65 between 14th Street and 7th Street in Sedalia – Permit utility work will continue. One eastbound lane will be open on Route 50 and one northbound lane will be open on Route 65.
Route 50 and Route 65 in Sedalia – Intersection improvements. Work will continue to modify the existing intersection by creating additional turn lanes, installing new traffic signals and constructing median islands. One lane in each direction on each route will be open to traffic. Motorists are asked to use alternate routes as delays may be possible. The project will be complete in late summer 2008.
Route O at Little Shaver Bridge, just south of Route 50 – Bridge deck repairs will continue on Monday, May 12. One lane of the bridge will be open to traffic.
Route W between Over Street and Clay Street in Sedalia - Culvert replacements will take place in various locations. One lane will be open to traffic.
