Road Work for Mid-Missouri

June 27 - July 8, 2016


JEFFERSON CITY - The following is a listing of general highway maintenance and construction work in the mid-Missouri area for the two-week period of June 27-July 8, 2016. Scheduled lane closures will not take place on Monday, July 4 for the Independence Day Holiday. Weather conditions may postpone the work schedule. Many projects will include lane closures that could cause delays.

MoDOT reminds motorists to buckle up, slow down, follow posted signs and drive safely through work areas. All Counties
Daylight Hours
Striping of roadways, mowing, brush cutting and guardrail repair continues in various locations.  Motorists should travel with care and be alert to slow-moving equipment along the road.

 

Boone County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Interstate 70 Bridge Replacement – Replacement of bridges over Business Loop 70, Garth Avenue and Rangeline Street continues.

Traffic Impacts Week of June 27

I-70

  • There will be intermittent lane closures in both the eastbound and westbound lanes of I-70 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Wednesday and Thursday for work at Garth Avenue and Range Line Street.  

 

Business Loop

  • Business Loop 70/West Boulevard, all on- and off-ramps at Interstate 70 and Business Loop/West Boulevard and the south outer road (I-70 Drive) remain closed to allow for replacing the I-70 bridge over the business loop and building a dual-lane roundabout on the south side of Business Loop 70. 
  • I-70 traffic is detoured onto the Business Loop ramps.
  • The new I-70 bridge at Business Loop will be slid into place on either June 27 or 28.

Route 63 Outer Road over Gans Creek Bridge, south of Discovery Parkway – Bridge replacement is underway. The road is closed to traffic between Discovery Parkway and South Brock Rogers Road. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route around the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in early September.

 

Overnight Hours

Route 63 between Route 763 and Route WW – Pavement repair and resurfacing continues.  Work will take place in the southbound lanes the week of June 27. The project is scheduled for completion in mid-July.

Route 124 between Old Route 63 and Dodd Road – Bridge maintenance will take place on Sunday, July 10 and Monday, July 11. The roadway will be closed between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route around the area.

Route EE between Drake Lane and the Howard County Line – Roadside maintenance will take place Wednesday, June 29 and Thursday, June 30. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Callaway County

Daylight Hours

 

Route 94 between Route 63 and Bluffton Road in Montgomery County – Pavement repairs and shoulder widening continues.

       * Concrete culvert work is planned in various locations between Portland and Tebbets the week of June 27. One lane will be open through the work areas. The entire project is scheduled for completion by fall.

 

Camden County
Overnight Hours
Route 54 between Route Y and Old Route 5 – Roadway resurfacing in the eastbound lanes and westbound lanes is underway. Work will take place between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. One eastbound lane and one westbound lane are open through the work area. The project is set for completion in the fall.

Route 5 between Laurie and Hurricane Deck – Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, June 27 through Thursday, June 30. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route H between Route 7 and Route T – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, June 27 through Thursday, June 30. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Cole County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 50/63 (Whitton Expressway) and the Lafayette Street Interchange - Interchange construction, lane construction, and bridge improvements continue.

Scheduled Work During the Week of June 27

(please note that all activities and schedules are weather permitting):  Contractors will be installing drainage structures along Lafayette St. and preboring for the piling on the north abutment of Jackson St. 

NOTE:  There will be periodic lane closures in the driving lane of eastbound and westbound Route 50/63 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, June 26 thru Saturday, July 2 from Monroe Street to Chestnut Street.

Current Traffic Impacts:

  • All Route 50/63 ramps at Lafayette Street remain closed.
  • The westbound Route 50/63 Clark Avenue on ramp is now OPEN.
  • Westbound and eastbound bypasses have been removed. All traffic patterns have returned to normal on eastbound and westbound Route 50/63 at Lafayette Street. NOTE: Workers are still working in the area. Please observe all posted work zone speed limits for your safety and the safety of the workers.
  • Elm Street is permanently closed from Lafayette Street 500 feet east to Cherry Street and also from just east of Marshall Street to Lafayette Street.
  • Pedestrian/Cycling impacts: The east and west sidewalks along Lafayette Street from East Dunklin Street to East Miller Street, and across the Jackson Street Bridge remain closed due to construction. A temporary detour has been laid out on Monroe Street and Chestnut Street Bridge. Pedestrian and bicycle traffic is asked to use this temporary detour. Route 54/63 over the Missouri River in Jefferson City – Westbound bridge repair and painting continues.  
* The westbound Route 54/63 bridge is closed. Westbound traffic is being diverted onto the eastbound bridge. Concrete barriers separate eastbound and westbound traffic. Drivers are encouraged to alter their travel times to avoid morning and evening rush periods.
The project is scheduled for completion in August.

Overnight Hours
Route 50 between Truman Boulevard and Dix Road - Roadway resurfacing is underway.

       * Rumble strip installation is planned for the eastbound and westbound lanes from Truman Boulevard to Dix Road the week of June 27. One lane will be open through the work zone. The project is set for completion in July.

 

Cooper County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Interstate 70 over the Lamine River, west of Boonville – Bridge rehabilitation continues.

       * Crews will continue building crossovers during the week of June 27.

       * Eastbound and westbound lane closures are likely from 6 p.m. until 6 a.m. each night until early July.

Route A over Long Branch, east of Otterville – Bridge replacement continues. The road is closed to traffic. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route around the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in mid-August.

Route Z over Heaths Creek, south of Interstate 70 – Bridge deck replacement continues. The bridge is closed to traffic. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route around the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in early July.

Route 179 over the Petite Saline Creek, north of Copps Chapel Road – Bridge maintenance will take place Monday, June 27 through Thursday, June 30. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Crawford County

Daylight Hours

Route 8 between Route E and Route TT– Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, June 27 through Thursday, June 30. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 19 between Route 49 and Route VV– Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, June 27 through Thursday, June 30. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Route 19 between Route P and Route PP – Pavement marking will take place Monday, June 27 through Thursday, June 30. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 49 between Route 19 and Route Y– Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, June 27 through Thursday, June 30. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route F between Route 19 and Shoemaker Road – Culvert pipe replacement will take place Monday, June 27 through Thursday, June 30. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route H between Interstate 44 and Route MM – Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, June 27 through Thursday, June 30. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route AA between Cherryville Road and Fire Tower Road – Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, June 27 through Thursday, June 30. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Dent County
Daylight Hours

Route K between Route 19 and Route KK in Shannon County – Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, June 27 through Thursday, July 7. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Howard County
Daylight Hours
Route H between Route 124 and Route B in Randolph County – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, June 27 and Tuesday, June 28. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route Y between Route 124 and County Road 135 – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, June 27 and Tuesday, June 28. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route BB between Route O and County Road 116 – Culvert pipe replacement will take place on Wednesday, June 29 and Thursday, June 30. The roadway will be closed between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route around the area.


Laclede County

Overnight Hours

Interstate 44 between Route 133 and Route F – Pavement repair in the eastbound lanes and westbound lanes continues. One eastbound lane and one westbound lane are open through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in late July.

Daylight Hours

Route O between Route Z and Route TT – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, June 27 through Thursday, July 7. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Maries County
Daylight Hours

Route 28 between Route 63 and Route 50 in Gasconade County – Chip sealing roadway surface to extend pavement life will take place on Monday, June 27.  Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete. At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. Motorists should expect delays and lower their speeds through the area. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. 

 

Route 42 between Route 63 and Route 28 – Chip sealing roadway surface to extend pavement life will take place on Thursday, July 7. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete. At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. Motorists should expect delays and lower their speeds through the area. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. 

 

Route N between Route 28 and Route 133 – Chip sealing roadway surface to extend pavement life will take place on Tuesday, July 5. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete. At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. Motorists should expect delays and lower their speeds through the area. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. 

Route V between Route 42 and Route N – Chip sealing roadway surface to extend pavement life will take place on Wednesday, July 6. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete. At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. Miller County

Route 42 between Main Street and St. Louis Street in Iberia – Sidewalk and pedestrian improvements continue. One lane is open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 42 between Route C and Route U – Culvert pipe replacement in various locations will take place Tuesday, July 5 and Wednesday, July 6. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Route A over Tavern Creek, west of Clark School Road – Bridge maintenance will take place on Monday, June 27 and Tuesday, June 28. The bridge will be closed between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. each day. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route around the work area.

 

Route E between Ball Park Road and Hoecker Road – Culvert pipe replacement in various locations will take place Wednesday, June 29 and Thursday, June 30. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route H between Route 17 and Marys Home Road - Roadway maintenance will take place Tuesday, July 5 through Thursday, July 7 One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route W between Lakeland Road and Jade Road – Culvert pipe replacement in various locations will take place Monday, June 27 through Thursday, June 30. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route FF between Route 54 and Route A in Cole County - Roadway maintenance will take place Tuesday, July 5 through Thursday, July 7 One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

 

Moniteau County
Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 179 over Splice Creek, north of Route P – Bridge replacement continues. The road is closed to traffic. Detours will be in place around the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in mid-August.

Route 179 between Route 87 and Main Street in Jefferson City - Roadway resurfacing continues. One lane is open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is set for completion in August.

 

Route F between Route 87 and Route E - Roadway maintenance will take place Wednesday, June 29 through Thursday, July 7. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route MM between Route F and Flag Spring Road - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, June 27 through Thursday, June 30. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Morgan County
Daylight Hours

Route AA over Indian Creek, south of Barnett – Bridge replacement will begin on Wednesday, June 29. The road will be closed to traffic. Detours will be in place around the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in mid-August.

 

 

Osage County
Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route 50 between Route 89 and Route 100 in Linn – Sidewalk and pedestrian improvements continue.

       * Shoulder paving is scheduled to resume the week of July 11. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is set for completion in the fall.

 

Route 50 between Route 89 and Route T in Gasconade County - Roadway resurfacing and shoulder widening continues. A pilot car will guide traffic through the work zone. The project is set for completion in July.

Route KK between Route N and Mud Creek Road in Gasconade County - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, June 27 through Thursday, July 7. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Phelps County

Route 8 between Route 68 and Meramec Farm Road in Crawford County - Roadway resurfacing and shoulder widening continues.

       * Shoulder work and roadway widening are planned for the week of June 27. A pilot car will guide traffic through the work zone. The project is set for completion in October.

 

Pulaski County

Route N between Route 133 and Crocker Road - Chip sealing roadway surface to extend pavement life will take place on Monday, June 27 and Tuesday, June 28. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete. At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. Motorists should expect delays and lower their speeds through the area. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. 

Route KK between Route U and Belle Road - Chip sealing roadway surface to extend pavement life will take place on Monday, June 27. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete. At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. Motorists should expect delays and lower their speeds through the area. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. 

Route MM between Route 28 and County Road 9050 in Phelps County - Chip sealing roadway surface to extend pavement life will take place on Thursday, June 30. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete. At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. Motorists should expect delays and lower their speeds through the area. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. 

Route PP between Route 28 and Compass Road - Chip sealing roadway surface to extend pavement life will take place on Tuesday, June 28 and Wednesday, June 29. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete. At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. Motorists should expect delays and lower their speeds through the area. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
