Road Work for Mid-Missouri

August 20-31, 2018

JEFFERSON CITY - The following is a listing of general highway maintenance and construction work in the mid-Missouri area for the two-week period of August 20-31, 2018.  Weather conditions may postpone the work schedule. Many projects will include lane closures that could cause delays.

All Counties

Daylight Hours

Mowing, striping, brush cutting and guardrail repair continues in various locations.  Motorists should travel with care and be alert to slow-moving equipment along the road.

 

Boone County

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route 40 between Route UU and Route 5 in Howard County – Resurfacing and shoulder improvements continue.

       * Resurfacing operations are nearing completion. Side road entrance paving and shoulder grading will take place the week of August 20. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

The project is scheduled to be completed in October.

 

Route BB over Interstate 70 – Bridge rehabilitation and ramp repairs continue.  

       * The bridge will close on Monday, August 20.  Entrance and exit ramps will remain open through much of the project, but may close for resurfacing near the end of the project. The project is scheduled for completion in October.  

Daylight Hours

Route 63 between Route 22 and Route EE in Randolph County – Roadway resurfacing in the northbound lanes continues. One northbound lane will be open through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in November.

Route O between Interstate 70 and Grocery Branch Road – Paving will take place Monday, August 20 through Thursday, August 23. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Callaway County

Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 54 between Route F and Route HH
– Concrete patching in the eastbound lanes will take place Monday, August 20 and Tuesday, August 21. One eastbound lane will be open through the work area.

Daylight Hours

Route A between Interstate 70 and Route B – Pavement patching will take place Monday, August 20 through Thursday, August 30. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Route B between Route 54 and the Montgomery County line – Roadway resurfacing continues.

       * Guardrail installation at the Harrison Branch and Loutre River bridges will take place the week of August 20. One lane will be open, and crews and a pilot car will guide traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in October.

 

Business Route 54 between Route 54 East and Route 54 West – Sidewalk and ADA improvements continue.  One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in December.

 

Camden County

Overnight Hours

Route 5 between Route 7 and Route 64 in Laclede County – Guardrail installation and replacement and pavement repair continues.

       * Paving operations continue the week of August 20. One lane will be open through the work area.

The entire project is scheduled for completion in November.

 

Cole County 

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route 54 between Broadway Street and Stadium Boulevard – Roadway resurfacing, pavement repair, guardrail replacement and bridge repair continues.  

      * Cold milling and resurfacing operations will take place in the eastbound and westbound lanes between Stadium Boulevard and the Missouri River Bridge during the overnight hours. One eastbound lane and one westbound lane will be closed with occasional closures of entrance and exit ramps.

The entire project is scheduled for completion in November.

Route 17 between Route 54 and Route 52 Miller County – Roadway resurfacing and shoulder widening continues. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in November.

 

Cooper County

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route 87 over Interstate 70 – Bridge replacement is underway. Route 87 is closed, but eastbound exit and entrance ramps connecting to I-70 remain open. Signed detours are in place.

       * Occasional overnight lane closures are possible on I-70 for construction of the new bridge.

       * Grading operations, base rock installation, resurfacing of Route 87 and the westbound entrance and exit ramps and culvert extension work will take place the week of August 20.

The entire project is scheduled for completion in November.

Route AA between Route B and Route H – Partial pavement overlay will take place Wednesday, August 29 and Thursday, August 30. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Crawford County

Daylight Hours

Route 8 between Route 19 and Route TT – Drainage repair will take place Monday, August 20 through Thursday, August 30. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Route 19 between Route O and Route P – Pavement marking will take place Monday, August 20 through Thursday, August 23. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Route 19 between Route 8 and Route 49 – Pavement patching will take place Monday, August 20 through Thursday, August 30. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Route M between Route 8 and Route VV – Culvert pipe replacement will take place Monday, August 20 through Thursday, August 30. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Route M between Route 8 and Route YY – Pavement patching will take place Monday, August 20 through Thursday, August 30. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route BB between Route 8 and Westover Road – Pavement patching will take place Monday, August 20 through Thursday, August 30. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route DD between Route 19 and Evans Road – Roadway resurfacing is scheduled to begin the week of August 20. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in October.

Route UU between Interstate 44 and Argo Road – Pavement patching will take place Monday, August 20 through Thursday, August 23. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route ZZ between Route 19 and Route F – Roadway resurfacing is scheduled to begin the week of August 20. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in October.

 

Dent County

Daylight Hours
Route 32 between County Road 2480 and County Road 5340 – Chip sealing the roadway surface to extend pavement life will take place Monday, August 20 through Friday, August 31. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete. At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. Motorists should expect delays and lower their speeds through the area. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. 

Route F between Route 32 and Route E – Pavement patching will take place Monday, August 20 through Friday, August 31. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Gasconade County

Daylight Hours
Route 19 between Route 28 and Route 50 – Chip sealing the roadway surface to extend pavement life will take place the week of August 20. Route H over Salt Fork Creek, south of County Road 204 – Bridge maintenance will take place Monday, August 20 through Thursday, August 30. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.


Route U between Route 3 and County Road 251 – Pavement patching will take place Monday, August 20 through Thursday, August 30. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Route Y between Route 124 and County Road 135 – Pavement patching will take place Monday, August 27 through Thursday, August 30. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Route AA between Route 87 and Route E – Pavement patching will take place Monday, August 27 through Thursday, August 30. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Route FF between Route 5 and County Road 227 – Pavement patching will take place Monday, August 27 through Thursday, August 30. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Laclede County

Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 5 between Route 64 and Route 7 in Camden County – Guardrail installation and replacement and pavement repair continues.

       * Paving operations continue the week of August 20. One lane will be open through the work area.

The entire project is scheduled for completion in November.

Interstate 44 Outer Road over the Gasconade River, west of Route 133 – Bridge replacement will begin on Monday, August 20.  The road is currently closed.

       * Blasting, grading and clearing operations will take place the week of August 20. Traffic on I-44 may be slowed during the work.  

       * A causeway will be built to haul material from the west side of the Gasconade River to the east side. This will restrict navigational traffic on the river after Labor Day weekend.

The entire project is scheduled for completion in August 2019.

 

Overnight Hours
Interstate 44 between Route 133 and Route D in Phelps County – Roadway resurfacing continues.

       * Work on the westbound climbing lane extension at mile marker 171.8 continues the week of August 20. The lane will be closed until late August.

       * Work continues on the eastbound bridge over Smith and Tater Hollow between mile markers 171 and 173. One eastbound lane is closed in the work area until September. The eastbound I-44 entrance ramp from Route D (Jerome) will also be closed during the work.

      * Asphalt paving in the eastbound and westbound lanes will take place the week of August 13.

The entire project is scheduled for completion in August 2019.

Interstate 44 between Elm Street and Route 133 – Pavement repair in the eastbound and westbound lanes continues. One eastbound lane and one westbound lane will be open through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in November.

Route 5 between Route C and Farmer’s Lane – Roadway resurfacing and shoulder widening continues. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in August.

Route 32 between Route 5 and Route 17 in Texas County – Roadway resurfacing and shoulder widening continues. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in November.

Route FF between Route 133 and Route T – Pavement patching will take place Monday, August 27 through Thursday, August 30. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Maries County

Daylight Hours

Route 42 between Route 63 and Route 17 in Miller County – Roadway resurfacing, shoulder addition, and guardrail installation continue. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in November.

Route T between Route 42 and Route AA – Culvert pipe replacement will take place Monday, August 20 through Thursday, August 23. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Miller County

Daylight Hours

Route 17 between Route 52 and Route 54 in Cole County – Roadway resurfacing and shoulder widening continues. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in November.

 

Route 42 between Route 17 and Route 63 in Maries County – Roadway resurfacing, shoulder addition, and guardrail installation continue. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in November.

Route A between Route 17 and Route 42 – Pavement patching will take place Monday, August 20 through Thursday, August 30. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route H between Route 17 and Marys Home Road – Roadway resurfacing continues. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in November.

Route M between Route 87 and Saline Road – Pavement milling will take place Thursday, August 23 through Thursday, August 30. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Moniteau County

Daylight Hours

Route 50 between Route 5 and Independence Avenue – Box culvert maintenance will take place Tuesday, August 21 and Wednesday, August 22. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Route E between Route 50 and Route CC – Partial pavement overlay will take place Wednesday, August 22, Monday, August 27 and Tuesday, August 28. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Route F between Route 87 and Route E – Partial pavement overlay will take place Monday, August 20 through Wednesday, August 22. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Morgan County

Daylight Hours

Route BB over Middle Richland Creek, south of Self Chapel Road – Bridge replacement is nearing completion. The road is closed. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route.

Route PP over Messer Creek, east of Route D – Bridge replacement is complete. The bridge was opened to traffic on August 10.

 

Osage County

Daylight Hours

Route A between Route 50 and Main Street – Roadway resurfacing continues. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in October.

Route K between Route 89 and County Road 318 – Roadway patching will take place Monday, August 20 through Thursday, August 30. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route W between Route 50 and Route A – Roadway patching will take place Monday, August 20 through Thursday, August 30. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Phelps County

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Interstate 44 between Route D and Route 133 in Laclede County – Roadway resurfacing continues.

       * Work on the westbound climbing lane extension at mile marker 171.8 continues the week of August 20. The lane will be closed until late August.

Route B over the Bourbeuse River, north of County Road 1400 – Bridge replacement continues. Much of the work will take place off the roadway. Minimal traffic interruptions are expected. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

Route D over the Burlington Northern/Sante Fe Railroad, east of Interstate 44 – Bridge replacement continues.  Much of the work will take place off the roadway. Minimal traffic interruptions are expected. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

 

Overnight Hours

Interstate 44 between mile marker 189 and mile marker 201 – Asphalt pavement repair in the eastbound lanes will take place the week of August 20. One eastbound lane will be open through the work area.

 

Pulaski County

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Interstate 44 between Route 133 in Laclede County and Route D in Phelps County – Roadway resurfacing continues.

       * Work on the westbound climbing lane extension at mile marker 171.8 continues the week of August 20. The lane will be closed until late August.
