Road Work for Mid-Missouri

August 22 – September 2, 2016

 


 


JEFFERSON CITY - The following is a listing of general highway maintenance and construction work in the mid-Missouri area for the two-week period of August 22 – September 2, 2016. Weather conditions may postpone the work schedule. Many projects will include lane closures that could cause delays.

All Counties
Daylight Hours
Striping of roadways, mowing, brush cutting and guardrail repair continues in various locations.  Motorists should travel with care and be alert to slow-moving equipment along the road.

 

Boone County

Daylight/Overnight Hours
Interstate 70 Bridge Replacement – Replacement of bridges over Business Loop 70, Garth Avenue and Rangeline Street is essentially complete. Minor traffic interruptions are possible.

 

Interstate 70 between St. Charles Road and the Callaway/Montgomery County line – Pavement improvements in the eastbound and westbound lanes are underway.

       * Work on much of I-70 will take place from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Friday through early October. One eastbound lane and one westbound lane will be open in the work area.
* Westbound Interstate 70 at the St. Charles Road/Lake of the Woods interchange near Columbia will be reduced to one lane from 7 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 20 until 6 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 26 as part of an ongoing pavement improvement project.

* The St. Charles Road/Lake of the Woods overpass will be open during the work. The westbound I-70 on ramp will be closed, while the westbound off ramp will remain open. All eastbound ramps to and from I-70 at the interchange will be open to traffic.

  

Route 63 Outer Road over Gans Creek Bridge, south of Discovery Parkway – Bridge replacement continues. The road is closed to traffic between Discovery Parkway and South Brock Rogers Road, and access to and from Route 63 from the Outer Road is closed. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route around the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in early September.

 

Overnight Hours

Route 63 between Route 763 (Rangeline Street) and Route WW – Pavement repair and resurfacing in the northbound and southbound lanes continues.

* The entrance ramp from the Route 63 Connector to northbound Route 63 will close on Thursday, August from 7 pm to 6 am. 

             * Pavement repair will take place on the Route 63 Connector and Route PP the week of August 22.  

       * Shoulder repairs will take place between Rangeline Street and Route WW the week of August 22. One northbound lane and one southbound lane are open through the work area. The project is set for completion in the fall.

Route 163 between Route AC and South Hampton Drive – Pavement repair will take place Monday, August 22.  One northbound lane will be open through the work area.

Route 163 between Carter Lane and Green Meadows Road – Pavement repair will take place Tuesday, August 23 and Wednesday, August 24. One northbound lane will be open through the work area.

Route 163 between Carter Lane and Green Meadows Road – Pavement repair will take place Tuesday, August 23 and Wednesday, August 24. One northbound lane will be open through the work area.

Route 163 between Mick Deaver Drive and Carter Lane – Pavement repair will take place Thursday, August 25. One northbound lane will be open through the work area.

Daylight Hours

Route 124 over Reader Branch, west of Proctor Road – Bridge maintenance will take place Monday, August 22 through Thursday, September 1. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Callaway County

Daylight Hours

Route 54 between Business Route 54 and County Road 147 – Roadway resurfacing in the eastbound and westbound lanes continues. One eastbound lane and one westbound lane will be open through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

Route 94 between Route 63 and Bluffton Road in Montgomery County – Pavement repairs and shoulder widening continues.

       * Shoulder work, culvert pipe extensions and grading operations will take place the week of August 22. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

The project is scheduled for completion by fall.

Interstate 70 South Outer Road between Route 54 and Route JJ – Chip sealing the roadway surface to extend pavement life will take place Wednesday, August 24.  Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete. At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. Motorists should expect delays and lower their speeds through the area. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. 

Interstate South Outer Road between Route 54 and Route JJ – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 22 and Tuesday, August 23. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

 

Camden County

Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 54 between Route Y and Old Route 5 – Roadway resurfacing in the eastbound lanes and westbound lanes continues.  One eastbound lane and one westbound lane are open through the work area. The project is set for completion in the fall.

Daylight Hours
Route 5 over the Niangua River, south of Lamplighter Drive – Bridge inspection will take place the week of August 22.  One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Route 54 at the Grand Glaize Bridge – Bridge inspection in the eastbound and westbound lanes will take place the week of August 22.  One eastbound lane and one westbound lane will be open through the work area.

 

Cole County 

Daylight/Overnight Hours
Route 50/63 (Whitton Expressway) and the Lafayette Street Interchange - Interchange construction, lane construction, and bridge improvements continue.

Scheduled Work During the Week of Aug. 22 (please note that all activities and schedules are weather permitting):  Contractors will work on retaining walls, and pour curb, gutter, concrete islands and sidewalk on Lafayette St. They will also install curb/gutters and lay asphalt on Jackson St. The contractors will also continue installing traffic signals on Lafayette St. and will install sidewalks and ADA ramps along Jackson St.

Upcoming Traffic Impacts:

  • There will be periodic lane closures of eastbound and westbound U.S. Route 50/63 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, August 21 thru Saturday, August 27 from Monroe St. to Chestnut St.

 

Current Traffic Impacts:

  • All Route 50/63 ramps at Lafayette Street remain closed.

Route 54/63 over the Missouri River in Jefferson City – Westbound bridge repair and painting continues.  
* The westbound Route 54/63 bridge is closed. Westbound traffic is being diverted onto the eastbound bridge. Concrete barriers separate eastbound and westbound traffic. Drivers are encouraged to alter their travel times to avoid morning and evening rush periods.
The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

 

Overnight Hours

Route 50 between Dix Road and Vetter Lane – Roadway resurfacing in the eastbound and westbound lanes continues.

             * Guardrail replacement and rumble strip installations will take place the week of August 22. The project is scheduled for completion in September.

Business Route 50 (Missouri Boulevard) at Kansas Street – Sidewalk and pedestrian improvements continue.

       * Electrical work is planned for the week of August 22. Periodic lane closures are possible through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

 

Cooper County

Daylight/Overnight Hours
Interstate 70 over the Lamine River, west of Boonville – Bridge reconstruction in the eastbound and westbound lanes was completed on August 17.  

Overnight Hours

Interstate 70 between Mile Marker 90.2 and mile marker 100 – Roadway maintenance in the westbound lanes will take place Sunday, August 21 through Thursday, September 1. One westbound lane will be open through the work area.

 

Route 135 between Route N and Clifton City – Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, August 22 through Thursday, August 25. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 87 over Interstate 70 – Bridge maintenance will take place Monday, August 22 through Thursday, August 25. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Crawford County

Overnight Hours

Interstate 44 between Route J and the Franklin County Line - Roadway resurfacing in the eastbound and westbound lanes continues. 

       * Paving of entrance and exit ramps at the Routes F/ZZ interchange will take place the week of August 22. One eastbound lane will be open through the work area.

The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

Route 19 between Route P and Route PP – Pavement marking will take place Monday, August 22 through Thursday, August 25. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 19 between Route CC and Bailey Road – Culvert pipe repair in various locations will take place Monday, August 22 through Thursday, August 25. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route 19 between Cuba and the Gasconade County line – Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, August 22 through Thursday, August 25. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route F between Interstate 44 and Route 19 – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 22 through Thursday, August 25. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route J between Bourbon and Franklin County line – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 22 through Thursday, August 25. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Dent County

 

Gasconade County

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route A over Crider Creek, north of Lahmeyer Road – Bridge replacement continues.  The road is closed to traffic. Detours are in place around the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in October.

 

Daylight Hours

Route 19 between Route 28 and Route CC in Crawford County – Pavement, shoulder and signal improvements continue.
* Signal work will take place in various locations the week of August 22. Lane closures are also planned for the intersection of Route 19 and Routes F/CC. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

 

Route Y between Route 28 and Peaceful Valley Road – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 22 through Thursday, September 1. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route MM between Route 32 and County Road 4280 – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 22 through Thursday, September 1. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Howard County

Overnight Hours

Route 40 between Route 5 and the Cooper County line – Pavement repair is scheduled to begin the week of August 22. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in October.

 

Laclede County

Overnight Hours

Interstate 44 between Route 133 and Route F – Pavement repair in the westbound lanes continues. One westbound lane is open through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in August.

Route 5 at Commercial Street - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 22. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. There will be no access to Commercial Street from Route 5 while the work is taking place.

Maries County

Daylight Hours

Route T between Route 42 and Route AA - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 22 through Wednesday, August 24. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route HH between Route 133 and County Road 621- Roadway maintenance will take place Thursday, August 25 through Thursday, September 1. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Miller County

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route 87 over the South Moreau Creek, south of the Moniteau County line – Bridge deck replacement continues. The road is closed to traffic. Motorists are advised to seek an alternate route around the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in late October.

Route 54 between Route 242 and the Cole County line – Roadway resurfacing in the eastbound lanes and westbound lanes continues. One eastbound lane and one westbound lane are open through the work area. The project is set for completion in the fall.

 

Route A between Route 17 and Route 42 – Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 22 through Thursday, August 25. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Route E between Route 52 and Ten Mile Drive – Chip sealing the roadway surface to extend pavement life will take place Monday, August 29 through Thursday, September 1.  Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete. At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. Motorists should expect delays and lower their speeds through the area. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. 

Route V between Route 54 and Front Street – Roadside maintenance will take place Monday, August 29 through Thursday, September 1.  One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Route BB between Route 42 and Route 133 in Maries County – Roadway maintenance will take place on Monday, August 29 through Thursday, September 1. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

 

Route PP between Route 52 and Route A – Chip sealing the roadway surface to extend pavement life will take place Monday, August 29 through Thursday, September 1.  Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete. At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. Motorists should expect delays and lower their speeds through the area. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. 

Moniteau County

Morgan County

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route M over Haw Creek, north of Pond Road – Bridge replacement continues.  The road is closed to traffic. Detours are in place around the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in early September.

Route AA over Indian Creek, south of Barnett – Bridge replacement continues. The road is closed to traffic. Detours are in place around the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in late August.

Daylight Hours

Route 52 between Route C and Barnett – Roadway maintenance will take place on Monday, August 22 through Thursday, August 25.  One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Osage County

Daylight Hours

Route 50 between Route 89 and Route T in Gasconade County - Roadway resurfacing and shoulder widening continues.

       * Shoulder and approach paving will take place the week of August 22. One lane is open and a pilot car will guide traffic through the work zone. The project is set for completion in the fall.

                                                                

Route JJ between Route 63 and County Road 634 – Chip sealing the roadway surface to extend pavement life will take place Wednesday, August 24 through Thursday, August 25.  Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete. At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. Motorists should expect delays and lower their speeds through the area. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. 

 

Phelps County

Daylight/Overnight Hours
Interstate 44 at the Vichy Road Overpass in Rolla – Bridge maintenance and culvert pipe replacement continues.

       * Work on the retaining wall between the Vichy Road Bridge and the eastbound I-44 exit ramp at Route 63 continues the week of August 22. One eastbound lane will be closed between Route 63 and Route E. The eastbound entrance ramp at Route E will be closed.

The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

 

Pulaski County

Daylight Hours

Route 17 between Route H and Route T – Pavement improvements and grading continue.

       * Box culvert and culvert pipe extensions will take place the week of August 22. Minor traffic delays are possible in the work area. The project is set for completion in the fall.

 

Washington County

Daylight Hours

Route CC between Route 21 and Upper Blackwell Road in St. Francois County - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday, August 22 through Thursday, August 25. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
