SFS 7-081125 Portable Traffic Control System 12/3/08 12/13/08 The Missouri Department of Transportation has determined that only one source, Horizon Signal Technologies Inc., Malvern, PA can provide the Department with at least one Portable Traffic Control System ( PTCS) with enclosed transportation trailer with lock downs. The PTCS shall consist of four self-contained, portable signal carts. Each cart shall provide a vertical telescoping upright with one signal head, radio communication system, controller, 12-volt battery system to provide minimum 72 hours of continuous operation and a 110-volt battery charger. The signal head shall consist of three (red, amber and green) 12-inch diameter LED signal indications and visors. The System shall include a wireless radio communication package, micro-terminal, work zone indicator light, wireless remote, unlimited technical support and training on the system.  The PTCS shall be able to operate in a fix-time, traffic-actuated or manual-control mode. Design and operations of the units shall comply with the Federal Highways Administration’s (FHWA) Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices and must meet NCHRP 350 Test Level 3.
SFS 7-081001 Sasco Macro Deck 10/01/08 10/11/08 The Missouri Department of Transportation has determined that only one source, Sasco Pavement Coatings, Inc., Springfield MO can furnish District 7’s Bridge Department with Star Macro Deck Bridge Deck and Crack Sealer.  This material is an OR MoDOT approved penetrating clear product, which will waterproof and not discolor bridge deck.  The material allows the elimination of blotter material to absorb excess material and may be utilized by traffic as soon as dried without exhibiting residual tracking.
SFS - 7-080930 Rapid Crete 09/30/08 10/10/08 The Missouri Department of Transportation has determined that there is only one known source of MoDOT Rapid Cement Premix (RPC) for pavement repair, Western Material & Design, LLC.  Rapid Cement Premix (RPC) is one-component shrinkage compensated proprietary blend of cement, aggregates and performance enhancing chemical additives in 70lbs bags.  This is used for horizontal concrete repairs that require high-early strength gain.  Rapid Cement Premix (RPC) is a patent pending formulation that was developed exclusively for the DOT market.
SFS 7-080925 Trimble GPS 09/25/2008 10/06/2008 The Missouri Department of Transportation (District 7) has determined that only Seiler Instrument can provide the Department with proprietary upgrades and compatible GPS equipment.  District 7 is currently using Trimble GPS systems in our Survey and Construction Departments.  MoDOT District 7 has determined the need to have compatibility of using the same brand of GPS equipment to integrate crews, without having to acquire additional training because of purchasing different types of equipment.  This will reduce training time and allow more opportunities to share resources.  If equipment problems develop and the system doesn’t work properly then pieces can be replaced a piece at a time to identify the source of the problem.  The Trimble office software is compatible with District 7’s existing GPS systems.  Seiler Instrument is the regional distributor for Trimble equipment in the District 7 area.  Seiler Instrument is also offering the previous Missouri contract price on this purchase and allowing a trade-in offer for a limited time on specific pieces.  Purchases relating to this product are estimated to be $68,508.  Questions relating to this single feasible source posting may be directed to Cathy Bay at 417-629-3223 or via email at cathy.bay@modot.mo.gov.
SFS 7-080916 Save a life Tour 09/10/2008 09/16/2008
  • We are providing the Save a  Life tour to three high schools in the area.  They are East Newton,  Miller, and Webb City.  It costs about $5400 for each school.

The save a life tour multi-million dollar drinking and driving simulators are the only simulators in the nation that give participants a completely realistic, sober perspective on the effects of driving while intoxicated. With massive tour posters on display, high intensity videos rolling on huge monitors, and our charismatic show presenters engaging both participants and onlookers alike, no one that experiences the Save a Life Tour will leave unaffected. Just call us and ask why we're considered the "shock jocks of anti-drunk driving."
