Project Cost Estimation with Estimate 2000

* NOTICE TO CONSULTANTS - MODOT ESTIMATE SOFTWARE CHANGING JULY 2012 *

MoDOT has selected Oman Systems BidTabs Professional Plus for the replacement software for Estimate 2000.  This is a customized version of BidTabs Professional Plus specifically designed for MoDOT and consultants working with MoDOT.  MoDOT will accept Estimate 2000 files until July 2012.  After July 2012 (estimates submitted for the September letting), estimates will need to be in a format compatible with the BidTabs Professional Plus software.  MoDOT will continue to update the Estimate 2000 master item list until July 2012, however the unit prices are not being updated.  After July 2012 Estimate 2000 will not be supported or updated.

Disclaimer

It should be noted that Estimate 2000 is merely a tool to assist in project cost estimation and is not intended as a replacement for sound engineering judgment. An incorrect analysis can easily result from inappropriate input or from a misunderstanding of the program's function.

As mentioned in the Notice to Consultants above, unit pricing is not being updated and should not be assumed to be accurate.

Compatibility

Estimate 2000 will install and function correctly on computers running Windows 95/98/NT/2000 and 32-Bit versions of Windows XP/Vista/7

64-Bit operating systems require a custom install that is not supported by MoDOT

3.  The executable used to access the Estimate program is developed separately and is not copied during the installation process.  This file is included in the following archive.  The newest database for the User Item List is also included in this archive.  Once you have downloaded this file, simply launch it and it will automatically place the executable and the database in the correct location on your hard drive.
