What should LPA projects use as a state identification number?
Use the TIP Numbers as the state ID number.
What entities have to obtain a Data Universal Numbering System (DUNS) number and register with the Central Contractor Registration?
Section 1512(h) of the Recovery Act requires recipients of Recovery Act funds, including those receiving funds directly from the Federal Government, to register in the Central Contractor Registration database (CCR) at www.ccr.gov. These recipients would include the Missouri Department of Transportation and any local entities that are receiving sub allocated funds. Also, because recipients (MoDOT and local entities) must report information on their first-tier contracts and awards, these contractors and subcontractors must also obtain a DUNS number and register in the CCR database.
Please see below for information on how to register:
How does a contractor/recipient obtain a Data Universal Numbering System (DUNS) number?
All US Government contractors, grantees and loan recipients can request a DUNS number or modification to an existing DUNS record by using the on-line webform process at fedgov.dnb.com/webform (for US and International locations) or they can call 866-705-5711, option 3. The toll free number is for US locations only. Registrants will be asked for their entity name, address, city, state, country, postal code, highest ranking individual's name and title, line of business, # of employees and legal structure (i.e.: corporation, non profit, etc.) and socio economic data (veteran owned, women owned, etc) If they use the webform, there is a mailing address area, SIC code and annual revenue data lines but these are optional.
What steps do I need to take to ensure I am registered at CCR after receiving my DUNS number?
Once you have obtained a DUNS Number from D&B, you are eligible for CCR registration. Go to www.ccr.gov and click "Start New Registration" or apply by phone (800-227-2423). CCR has also developed a handbook (www.ccr.gov/handbook.asp). Obtaining a DUNS Number does not automatically mean you are registered in CCR. A DUNS is what is required to start your CCR registration.
Most entities have a DUNS number:
If you are not sure if you have a DUNS number. Call D&B using the toll-free number, 1-866-705-5711 and indicate that you are a Federal grant applicant or prospective applicant. D&B will tell you if you already have a number. If you do not have a DUNS number, D&B will ask you to provide relative information and will immediately assign you a number, free of charge.
If you know you do not have a DUNS number. Call D&B using the toll-free number, 1-866-705-5711 and indicate that you are a Federal grant applicant or prospective applicant. D&B will ask you to provide relative information and will immediately assign you a number, free of charge.
