Motor Carrier Rules

These regulations enable trucking companies to operate safely and profitably. 

MoDOT Motor Carrier Services helps carriers get the information, credentials and permits needed to start and continue a carrier business in Missouri. We also enforce safety and economic regulations to help make our highways safe and fair places to earn a living.

NOTICE: Motor Carrier rules were filed with the Secretary of State for amendment and/or rescission and published in the Missouri Register on November 15, 2016. 7CSR 10-25Motor Carrier Operations
7CSR 10-25.010PURPOSE: This rule implements the provisions of section 622.555, RSMo,
as enacted by House Bills No. 1270 and No. 2032, 91st General Assembly,
Second Regular Session, 2002, by prescribing requirements relating to
applications for skill performance evaluation certificates, and the
issuance, renewal, suspension and revocation of those certificates by the
commission. These certificates authorize certain individuals, who cannot
satisfy the physical qualifications generally required by federal
regulations, to drive commercial motor vehicles in intrastate commerce if
they satisfy alternative requirements, which demonstrate their ability to
maintain an equivalent or greater level of safety while operating
commercial motor vehicles.

disputes arising between household goods carriers and their customers.
