Duane S. Michie of Hayti was appointed to the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission in December 2001.  His term expires in March 2009.  Michie also serves as Chairman of the Missouri Department of Transportation and Highway Patrol Employees’ Retirement System board of trustees, chairman of the Pemiscot County Port Authority, and secretary-treasurer of the Lower Mississippi Delta Development Center Inc. of Memphis, Tenn.

Michie is also president/CEO of First State Bank & Trust Co. Inc. in Caruthersville; chairman of the board of the Bank of Hayti and Farmers Bank of Portageville; and president and chairman of the board of First State Bancorp Inc. of Caruthersville.

Michie is past treasurer of the Missouri Bankers Association and a member of Hayti United Methodist church and the Caruthersville Rotary Club.

Michie has a bachelor’s degree in agriculture from the University of Missouri-Columbia.  Michie and his wife, Sue, have four children.
