MoDOT St. Louis Area District News Release

ST. LOUIS - Traffic flow appeared to flow near normal on the fourth day of the west half reopening and east half closure of Interstate 64.
"Thursday morning traffic flowed well as the holidays are approaching," said MoDOT District Engineer Ed Hassinger. "The alternate highways and arterial roads had good travel times. These roads are filling up with more cars and taking the detoured traffic, but they are working well. We expect traffic to remain light from today through the holidays."
Area law enforcement noted a few incidents this morning during peak travel times including a multi-vehicle accident on southbound I-170 between I-70 and Natural Bridge. The interstate was closed a half hour causing substantial delays on I-170 and the exit from I-170. For minor crashes, motorists are reminded to pull out of the driving lanes to a shoulder or off ramp to call the police and exchange information.
Motorists are reminded of the full closure of McCausland under the I-64 bridge this weekend for demolition of the bridge. McCausland right at I-64 will be closed in both directions from Friday evening until 5 a.m. Monday, December 22. Motorists will need to find an alternate route for traveling in the area this weekend.
