ST. LOUIS -  Morning snow affected rush hour and the second day of the flip from reopening the west half and closing the east half of I-64.

 "Today's traffic volumes was still lighter than normal, but the delays on the interstates were longer than normal due to the snow," said MoDOT St. Louis District Engineer Ed Hassinger.  "We did still notice a peak push of traffic from 7:45 to 8:30 a.m.  As we move forward to a normal traffic day, we need motorists to spread out their rush times."

Forest Park Parkway is still up in both directions with an increase of 20-30%.  St. Louis County and St. Louis City engineers continued to monitor Forest Park Parkway today.  The travel time on Forest Park Parkway is moving well, but the north and south side streets are getting backed up especially at Skinker.

"Forest Park Parkway is working ok, but we may have to take a little time away from the parkway to help the side streets, " said City of St. Louis Director of Streets Todd Waeltermann. "This is a continuing process for us to make adjustments as needed."

In the Clayton area, Wydown and Forsythe were extremely congested.  Motorists are advised to use other streets to get into downtown Clayton.  Westbound Clayton Road was also congested headed toward central business district.

Access to downtown is still good using I-44 to Jefferson or to Lafayette/Truman Parkway.
