Buildings and Landmarks Lit Orange to Promote Work Zone Awareness Week Too many MoDOT employees can tell harrowing stories of near misses in work zones and accidents that left them in the ditch, on top of their truck or in the hospital. Work Zones Missouri's Major Roads in Good Condition - Up From Three Years Ago Three years of record road construction throughout Missouri have brought 78 percent of the state's major roads up to good condition, according to new MoDOT figures. That's a sizable jump from three years ago when only 46 percent were in good condition. Major Roads 2008 Statewide Construction Map Now Available To help motorists prepare for another busy work zone season, MoDOT has just released the 2008 Statewide Construction Map. Battle of the Belt Conquered by Missouri High Schools Buckle Up to Arrive Alive! is the message thousands of Missouri high school students have taken to heart as part of the statewide Battle of the Belt seat belt challenge. Winners of the 2007 competition recently were awarded more than $8,500 in prizes. Battle Law Enforcement Agencies Participating in Teen Safety Belt Campaign Law enforcement agencies around the state are participating in an enforcement campaign March 28 - April 13, focusing on reducing injuries and deaths among young drivers on Missouri roadways. Amtrak Funding Proposal To Revitalize Passenger Rail Service in Missouri While passenger rail is growing across the country, trains in Missouri are routinely late and ridership is declining.
