The University of Missouri's Head Football Coach Gary Pinkel will soon be seen on billboards and heard on the radio around the state promoting motorcycle safety. Sponsored by the Missouri Coalition for Roadway Safety, the “Look. Learn. Arrive Alive.” campaign begins in May, which is Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month. Safety enthusiasts hope to drive home the message that all motorists need to share the road. Motorcycles Truck-Only Lanes May Be Coming to Missouri As truck traffic continues to increase, Missourians have asked MoDOT if cars and trucks could be separated. While there is currently no funding to rebuild or widen I-70, the national "Corridors of the Future" program has funded the study of truck-only lanes in Missouri and will help MoDOT be ready to move forward with the best possible plan when funding does become available. All 2,500 Bridge Inspections Now Complete, No Damage Found As of 4 p.m., April 18, MoDOT completed inspections of all 2,500 bridges to be examined as a result of that morning's earthquake in Illinois. Earthquake Click It or Ticket The Missouri Coalition for Roadway Safety is joining with state and local law enforcement and highway safety officials to launch an aggressive national “Click It or Ticket” seat belt enforcement mobilization to crack down on low seat belt use and to reduce highway fatalities and injuries. MoDOT Offers New Airport Directory And Travel Guide The 2008-2009 Missouri Airport Directory and Travel Guide produced by MoDOT is now available to the public. The directory is a flight-planning tool that provides facility information to pilots and users of Missouri's public-use airports. Legislature Honors MoDOT Crews The Missouri House of Representatives recently honored MoDOT maintenance crews thanking them for keeping Missouri highways clear and safe. Crews ThinkFirst Missouri Receives International Safety Media Award ThinkFirst Missouri received second place from the International Safety Media Awards Committee during the ninth World Conference on Injury Prevention and Safety Promotion in Merida, Mexico. ThinkFirst was honored for its innovative "We'd Like to Crash Your Party" traffic safety campaign, and chosen from more than 150 entries. The project was funded by MoDOT. ThinkFirst
