Never Made It Campaign Targets Teens

The Never Made It safety belt marketing campaign uses realistic, chilling images of teens who “never made it” to significant milestones in their lives -- to educate them on the importance of wearing their seat belts. The campaign will have ads out soon, working to impress the importance of safety belts on teens in time for spring activities. campaign

Statewide Work Zone Event Taking Place in Jefferson City

To kick off Work Zone Awareness Week and commemorate the deaths of MoDOT employees who lost their lives in the line of duty, a statewide media event will be held at MoDOT’s Central Office at the Capital Ave. entrance, next to the Capitol in Jefferson City. The event will commemorate the 124 MoDOT workers who have been killed in the line of duty, through the lighting of a luminary for each employee and a showing of the public service announcement featuring Ken Hoierman, a MoDOT worker who lost his life in a 2006 work zone.

Missouri Model for Mature Driver Project

The senior population in Missouri is on the rise. While older adults bring lots of experience to the roadway, many of them face physical changes that may cause delayed reaction time, drowsiness and trouble judging distance or speed while driving. In response, MoDOT has launched a new pilot program to educate Missourians about mature driving and mobility options. Mature Drivers

Amtrak Adjusts Missouri Service Schedules to Accommodate Trackwork

Trains will continue to operate twice daily; Modified schedules take effect April 2

Amtrak is adjusting train schedules between St. Louis and Kansas City effective April 2, due to a major track repair project by the line's owner, Union Pacific Railroad (UP). The project will continue through the fall of 2007 and is expected to improve ride quality and reliability. Amtrak
