MoDOT Names Kathryn Harvey New Assistant Chief Engineer

Definitely not a new face to MoDOT, Harvey, previously the state design engineer, has served the agency for 22 years.

As the assistant chief engineer, Harvey will support the strategies set forth by the executive team. This includes the leadership of maintenance, construction, design, work zone safety and several other areas of department operations. New Assistant Chief

New State Map Coming Soon

With a centennial-themed cover, the new state highway map features 252 miles of additional highway, insets of the Chicago to Kansas City Expressway, an updated Katy Trail inset and the newly signed U.S. Bike Route 76 Transamerica Trail and so much more.

I-70 Blanchette Bridge Opens Two Months Ahead of Schedule

The westbound Interstate 70 Blanchette Missouri River Bridge in St. Louis opened to traffic on August 16, two months ahead of schedule.

Park over the Highway Project Begins

Officials recently broke ground for the Park over the Highway project in downtown St. Louis.

The project, which began today, is a part of the City Arch River 2015 project which will improve pedestrian accessibility and create a modern urban national park.

Amtrak Ridership on Missouri's Amtrak Service Continues to Grow

More Missourians are parking their cars and opting for the train. During fiscal year 2013, ending June 30, Amtrak Missouri River Runner ridership grew to 196,661 passengers. This is the sixth consecutive year of ridership growth.

"If you haven't ridden the train in a while, try it again. You will be pleased with the quality of service on the Missouri River Runner," said Michelle Teel, multimodal operations director at MoDOT." All Aboard


MoDOT's Tracker Noted as a Best Practice by FHWA

MoDOT's Tracker document has been acknowledged as a noteworthy practice by the Federal Highway Administration.  

FHWA acknowledges states and local agencies who are successfully implementing innovative approaches to transportation performance planning, implementation and evaluation. They included MoDOT’s Tracker because it helps achieve accountability and transparency, aligns performance measures and strategic goals, and is an outcome-based performance management tool.

The Message is Clear - Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over Missouri law enforcement participating in national campaign

Missouri state and local law enforcement agencies are participating in the national effort to deter substance-impaired driving by conducting statewide sobriety checkpoints and DWI saturation patrols Aug. 16 through Sept. 2.

Although the national effort on this campaign is nearing the end, law enforcement agencies are always on the look out for impaired drivers. Don't let it be you. Drive Sober
